But, it does not surprise me really..

Yes I agree with Lady in Red...English also is a too hard language....
English is a world language, like an international tongue organism...
Maybe it takes a life time...
Sometimes I want to try to read Time (United States) , Newsweek (United States), The Economist (UK) , Financial Times (UK), Washington Post (United States), İnternational Herald Tribune (The Golbal Edition of the New York Times), etc.
It is impossible to read them easily for my present capacity...
I must read "A history of the English-Speaking Peoples since 1900"...
I would like to read William Shakespeare´s plays = Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth and Othello in English...But it is impossible for now....
But I recognize some Turkish friends here, they know English very well..And they can read these publications...

Do you want to learn Turkish language?
You cannot learn it by yourself like English language.
Turkish and English are very different languages.
Turkish language is a language of suffixes.
You cannot learn Turkish language without reading newspapers, magazines, books, and talking to people.
In my opinion, it is important you work hard.
TLC (Turkish Language Class) ´s efforts for Groups - Beginner on Turkish language are very important approach and really great opportunity for you.
If you really wish to learn Turkish language?
Huh? Of course it´s better to learn any language with a supervision of a trained teacher. Yet, if we study by ourselves, a language with not many exceptions and with phonetical writing system is easier. Thus Turkish is easier to learn on one´s own than English

I do know of someone who learnt English buy just reading newspapers, with the help of a dictionary and I wonder how the resort boys learn English so well? Do they go to classes or just rely on learning from tourists.
I think you should lower your limits on the papers you chose to read! Most of those are so boring, you should try the Independent or Times (online) or the Turkish Daily News (English version online) first. We have a saying " learn to walk before you run" and I think you have chosen some very difficult papers, journals and books (i.e. Shakespear) to read. The average UK born person would not even read (or be able to read) Shakespear - you need a will of cast iron, determination and dedication
But Yilgin, I for one think your level of English has greatly improved lately. Keep it up!

I agree, he´s doing very well with his English but Shakespeare may be too ambitious for the moment. However, he may wish to watch some of the film versions or read some of the publications that have been produced for children. These will help with the understanding of the plot before reading. I would suggest a fairly light one to begin with eg. "A Midsummer Night´s Dream" or "Twelfth Night".
Yilgun, if you look under the Filmography section here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Branagh#Filmography there are some Shakespeare films there and I think some of them can be obtained in video/DVD form.
