Is Ramadan turning into Christmas?

"The trend among Turks, who have begun shopping frantically during the holy month of Ramadan in recent years, resembles the consumption frenzy that occurs as Christmas approaches in the United States"
i suppose like anything greed takes over and the meaning of the event gets lost

They are delicious!  They look like this:

And the filling is made like this

Not to be confused with minced meat - which is exactly what it sounds like!

I personally love Christmas.  I don´t go crazy with all the gift giving but I love the food and seeing friends and family.  If you personally let the meaning of the season be forgotten then that is a shame.....but I don´t think just because you have a nice party or buy a few gifts means you are loosing the meaning of the season (either Christmas or Ramadan season)

I agree with you! (despite my solemn promise to punish you by disagreeing with you on everything for scheming against me!!!) gifts are nice but without the family atmosphere and get together, they are meaningless and bring no joy. One has to find a balance.
