Turkish 'idioms' and eveyday sayings.

Couldn't find a suitable forum for this, but it might be fun to learn some Turkish 'idioms' - nice little sayings used by Turkish people to express a view or make a comment. Could those that know some post them in Turkish and with their (equivalent) English meanings.

there was a thread with Turkish idioms here:

http://www.turkishclass.com/forumTitle_6_243

however, i think we could do with some more - just everyday most frequently used expressions...so...our dear natives...how about giving it a go?

Well guys, I finally felt confident enough to tackle a short translation by myself. So I chose that classic piece of Turkish literature 'Elveda' by Ismail YK

I hope its not too bad, but could someone kindly check and correct my translation? I couldn't find the meaning of 'boynuna'and 'and 'bilsen nasil' had me confused also, there are also a few bits which i'm sure are very badly translated. Can someone help?
Thanks in advance.

Çok değiştin..sen sevgilim
Ayrılığı söyler dilin
Yarım kaldı bu aşkımız
Sızlıyorum yanar içim
Karar verdim ben..herşey bitti

Gideceğim buralardan
Artık elveda
Son kez sarılayım boynuna
Seviyorum senİ ama
Yüreğim sızlıyor.elveda

Yıllar boyu aramıştım
Seviyorsun çok sanmıştım
Çok değiştin sen sevgilim
Bilsen nasıl bağlanmıştım
Karar verdim ben ..herşey bitti
Gideceğim buralardan
Artık elveda
Son kez sarılayım boynuna
Seviyorum senİ ama
Dönmem bir daha
Yüreğim sızlıyor..elveda

you have changed so much my love
you said you were leaving
our love will stay ?
Inside I am aching/burning
I have decided everything is over
I will go from here
so farewell
last time I hug you ?
I love you but
I can’t come back again
my heart is saying farewell
I had looked for this in long years
I thought/imagined you were loving me a lot
you have changed so much my love
? how did I fall for you

Oh Thanks Slavica,

I'm not usually confident enough to try out my turkish on the site, but I worked hard at this and really want someone to tell me how it was and correct the bits i've done wrong.

Thanks for your encouragement I really appreciated it.
