Explore the vibrant culture and music of Turkey with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in three FREE events at Maida Vale Studios

 

WORKSHOP: Turkish Delights

Wednesday 19 November 7.00pm

Come and play and dance. No previous experience is necessary to enjoy these hands-on sessions for people of all ages. Come and try your hand in a Turkish rhythm workshop and then learn to dance the Anatolian way!

CONCERT: East Meets West

Thursday 20 November 7.30pm

Members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra are joined by Ali Tüfekçi and his traditional Turkish ensemble straight from Istanbul. Reflecting a city where East truly meets West, tonight´s programme includes music from both Western and Turkish classical traditions, and ends with a collaboration betwween the to groups of musicians in our Fusion Finale.

Join the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Ali Tüfekçi´s traditional Turkish ensemble for an evening of music inspired by the culture of Turkey. Including works by Erkin, Mozart, Saygun and a new work by Michael Ellison for symphony orchestra, Turkish ensemble and solo cello.

And once i did make comments on that forums...i decided not to join them again ,,, you might remember

It was absolutely amazing! It will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 15th December, need to check time.
