AKP deputy proposes ‘marriage school’

Osman Coskun Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy Osman Coskun has said there has been a recent increase in the number of divorces and suggested that a marriage school should be established to counter this trend.

...

Coskun noted that a medical report is necessary for a couple seeking to get married and proposed that a certificate showing the two took and passed a course on marriage should also be required. He maintained that if experts give lessons on marriage, this will eventually decrease the rate of divorce. ...

What a clever idea...I wonder if I could pass the course!

People have the right to get married EVEN if it is a proven fact that it is going to be a disaster.....its called freedom.  Besides....what is so wrong with divorce?  It was a blessing for me.  This is about as clever as a ban birth control!  I am surprised that the Turkish government doesn´t suggest this as well!{#lang_emotions_lol_fast}

In Poland people who get married in church have to have a few lessons about marriage to get a certificate - to make things even more ridiculous the lessons are given by priests and nuns who by definition cannot have families on their own lol

I think it´s a good thing to have sexual education at school - but it should be done by professionals not ideologists. Besides, whatever you may learn, real life will verify it anyway, there´s no recipe for a perfect marriage, it´s just hit-or-miss
