Thank you....it´s very late, or early here...it´s one AM. Have to go to the vet to pick him up before I go to work......you know these animals really get to you. He´s a rescue. Someone threw him in a plastic bag and into a garbage can with the rest of his litter. He was rescued from the trash and brought to me and placed in my arms. He put his head under my armpit.....so small he could fit in my palm. He´s been with me for 4 years.

Moving the curtains to get a better look at my window boxes, I saw a very large spider! ScaredSeeing as I don´t like to kill things, it was a problem figuring out what to do with it.  My cats were anxious to get at it, but I was afraid it could have been a brown recluse...thus dangerous to them...and me....

In the end it was coaxed into a large glass jar and sent to a new home...in an abandoned building.

It wasn´t a brown recluse...in the glass jar I could inspect the details.

Lol I bought eggs today and when I was moving them over to the fridge I encountered a nice big bug underneath one of them.. And guess what: one of my friends here got a knife and asked whether I also wanted to eat half of it! I looked at her in amazement, but it had already gone.. still wonder whether she was serious 0.o

Now this is scary!!Scared

It’s every author’s dream come true: A book you can’t lend and can’t duplicate. You can’t even reread it—to go back even a single page, you’d have to buy a whole new copy. Think of the royalties!

That’s precisely what may have gone through the mind of Koji Suzuki, a writer considered the Stephen King of Japan, when he received a commission from the Hayashi Paper Corporation for a horror story with a toilet-related theme.

The tale, it turned out, was to be printed on a roll of toilet paper!

horror tp Japanese Toilet Paper Gets Creepy picture

The nine-chapter novella that resulted, called Drop, tells of a nasty spirit who makes his home in a toilet. The notion of potty-dwelling monsters who reach out and grab you when you’re at your most vulnerable is well established in Japan. Stories about them are usually used—like scary stories everywhere—to keep kids from misbehaving.

But Drop is for grownups. Its entire artistically printed text (in Japanese, of course) takes up only about three feet, short enough to read in a single bathroom break at work. Best of all, once you’ve finished, the boss can’t accuse you of dawdling, since all the evidence has been flushed away.

Remarkably, Drop is not Hayashi Paper’s first venture into creative toilet paper content. One of the company’s earlier products was a roll printed with earthquake-survival information. What’s puzzling is why they selected this particular story as their first venture into fiction.

From the sound of it, one of Koji Suzuki’s earlier novels might have been a better choice. It’s title? Dark Water

She is 97 years old and homeless...........

full story....

"......Bessie spent her young adulthood in Northern California and worked as a packer for the National Biscuit Co. until she was in her 60s. She gave birth to 11 children, eight of whom are still living. She remains in contact only with Charlie and Larry, who were both born in San Francisco, grew up in Santa Rosa and have high school educations.

Their father, who had worked in San Francisco-area shipyards and as a Hollywood stunt driver, died in 1966. In all, Bessie has outlived three husbands. Charlie has been married four times, and Larry was briefly married once. Neither has children.

Charlie worked in construction and as a painter before becoming disabled by degenerative arthritis. Larry was a cook before compressed discs in the back and a damaged neck nerve put an end to it. Twenty-six years ago, he began working as a full-time caregiver for his mother through the state´s In-Home Supportive Services program.

That ended about four years ago, when the owner of a Palm Springs home where they lived had to sell the place. At the same time, the state dropped Larry and his mother from the support program,...................."

What about those other children? Why don´t they help....? What have we become that a mother of 11 has to live like this?
