Yesterday night a group of teenagers sprayed acid on the face of a grocer in my neighbourhood because he refused to sell them alcohols(because they are underage).

He is french of morrocan origins and the boys are french, morrocans, africans & spanish ( a mixture of christians and muslims)

 A group of integrated terrorists...how progressive {#lang_emotions_head_bang}

I think it has something to do with the objectification and commoditization of our societies. Children develop in an environment filled with quite graphic violence, scenes of brutal, state sanctified, violence surrounds us. They are even able to have toys that glorify and desensitize them to violent acts. Is it no wonder our youth are becoming more violent?

 I think you hit the nail right on the head, cedars.....violence amoung young people is escalating.  Here in America, young people are committing terrible crimes at younger and younger ages.  I guess it is happening everywhere.

You may be right, Alameda. I have recently seen Cidade De Deus (The City of God ? - I´m not sure about the English title). Very moving and insightful into how violence, perverted morality and crime is created. The world sure is a dangerous place - your religion, race or just silly coincidence can put your life at risk

The shame is, ask anyone who works in an Accident and Emergency department and these sorts of attacks are getting more and more common, and not just against other ethnic groups but within their own ethnic groups, so you are not lighting any fires with this one Tami!  You are getting very boring so why don´t you go and find something a little more interesting to write about, or is this now you latest obsession?

  Yes, can you imagine if someone from the 19th Century were to see our 21st Century popular entertainment, how shocked they would be?

Now we see hideous scenes of ravaged societies, blood and gore, and then go on to have our supper a short while later.

It´s truly bizzar!

On the second thought perhaps it´s the flood of information that makes us think nowadays is more violent than the past. Maybe it´s because to see blood all you have to do is turn the tv on, in the past people did kill as well. They didn´t have all kinds of fancy weapon we have now but whole villages were burnt down in case of disagreement between two land owners...and the average life span was about 40 so it almost doubled now
