He was born in Giresun on 20th November in 1967. He studied sociology at Boğaziçi University and completed his Masters degree at İstanbul University. He formed his first group, 'Indians' in 1986 and he was their soloist for many years. Then this group was disbanded and he worked with many singers and groups. In 1996 he won ‘’best composer and group’’ award at the Roxy Music Competition with his songs ’’ne ekmek ne de su’’ and ‘’yollar’’. He made his ’Teoman’ album in 1996 followed by his O and ONYEDİ albums. He won the Kral TV video music award with his ‘Paramparça’ song. He made his 'Gönülçelen', 'Teoman2', 'En Güzel Hikayem', 'Best of Teoman' and 'Renkli Rüyalar Oteli' albums. Now he lives in İstanbul. He also made and directed a film called ‘Balans ve Manevra’.
