Will Hollywood apologize to Muslims?

Numerous criticisms have been voiced that the US media -- especially its cinema sector and TV networks -- tend to create image templates. This is true. Hollywood´s role in portraying Italians as mafia types, Asians as sneaky, blacks as bad, Indians as unmannerly, the Spanish as bribe takers, Latin Americans as drug sellers, etc., is undeniable. Yet, no nation or community has suffered the level of injustice Hollywood has been inflicting on Muslims. In Hollywood films, Muslims -- mostly Arabs -- are presented as people who hijack planes, set bombs, kill people, etc. -- in a word, as terrorists. This template is designed mostly for the middle class. The role tailored for women of the same class portrays women who are oppressed by men and those who are adept at belly dancing, though still suppressed and knowing no love. We may also encounter wealthy characters in these films. They tend to be lustful, fat and passionate types who do not know how to spend their millions.

Great article about Hollywood´s stereotyping of the English!
ALWAYS THE BAD GUYS!
"Indeed, when comparing the nature of British bad guys in films in particular, it is evident that they represent the ´intelligent evil´, ideal for casting directors because of their notoriously cold-mannered, calculating nature. American bad guys exist, but for a truly believable cold-blooded serial killer only a combination of the Queen´s English, and quintessentially British manners will do. Malice and callousness in abundance required? Look no further than the British Isles.... Alan Rickman, Die Hard´s ruthless yet handsome villain is the embodiment of malevolence, and in the sequel Jeremy Irons assumes the role of the intelligent bad guy with ease.
Furthermore, in the eyes of the Americans the British not only play villains to perfection, but are also convenient as their portrayal as the stereotypical bad guys doesn´t offend any US minority group. Continual casting of members of the Hispanic community as villains would certainly lead to unrest and accusations of racism, but it seems as if you cannot be racist about the English, most likely because of their previous level of superiority. Indeed, it must be recognised that the Americans no longer see us merely ´Brits´ but distinguish between the English, Scottish and Irish, if not having got to grips entirely with the Welsh.
Therefore, whilst the English and the Welsh (in the form of Anthony Hopkins) readily illustrate evil, the Scottish and the Irish in particular appear to have escaped this stereotype. Liam Neeson, the star of Schindler´s List, as Rob Roy is the hero fighting the evil English in the form of John Hurt and Tim Roth. There is, of course, nothing wrong with these English actors playing English characters, but this film is too stereotypical in the contrasts that it draws between its heroes and villains. Indeed, the most notorious film in the eyes of the British media for its unfair portrayal of the English is The Patriot. Once again historical fact does not impinge on a good story, and as a consequence, the English army emerge as war criminals, with Colonel Tavington, the main villain who is played by Jason Isaacs, portrayed as a sadistic psychopath... Has anybody seen "Crash" - it´s a 2004 movie set in L.A. It is exactly about stereotypes and prejudices. One of my favorite movies of all times, I´d highly recommend it.

Me - I agree it´s a brilliant film - Matt Dillon, Sandra Bullock and Don Cheadle are the main stars - don´t know the black actress´s name.
