Back to work after a week´s break.  I´m wondering what condition Frank will be in when he returns too.  Frank is a huge soft toy frog and the children take it in turns to take him home for a sleep over.  He´s been on holiday with children several times too! Dubai, Wales, Majorca  to name but a few.  His diary is a read not to be missed (who am I kidding?) .  He´s had the wash and tumble dry treatment several times, it´s amazing the state he returns to school in.  His favourite sleep over was a couple of weeks ago when he made a great friend of the family´s ginger cat.  He now has a photo gallery and the snap taken of him with the ginger cat takes pride of place.

His ambition is to ride on a donkey

 I had to put him in the stalls, he was tired and lonely.

I´ve already documented my story a couple of times, about my connection with donkeys.  I had a traumatice experience as a young child.  The handsom brought it all flooding back, when he mentioned a donkey a couple of times at the weekend.  I´m just working through my trauma, that´s all .

p.s.  GG gives good advice

I´m selling the donkey .

No . . . now . . . please don´t all get upset.  I´m doing it for his sake, he´s so lonely when I am at work.  It´s just not fair.  He´s going to live with the rest of the donkeys on the beach at Blackpool.  I think he will like that and, as thehandsom knows, even though he is in a different place, he is still the same endearing stubborn old mule (the donkey, that is).

 Actually theH made me an offer I couldn´t refuse.  He saw the ad I posted,  with the man and his donkey in the bath.  He thought it was an environmentally green method of saving water (theory of displacement) and he wanted to be the first to own such a device.  When I tried to tell him that he may end up with more water in there than he started with, without refilling from the tap, he thought that was even more igenious.

I simply couldn´t make him understand and he couldn´t be dissuaded.  He´ll never change.

you´ll get used to it in no time, I cannot imagine using IE anymore. Have you noticed you may change the skin of FF? They have some lovely designs to personalise your browser

I´m sorry to hear of your ill luck and hope you get everything sorted out soon.  You are lucky you didn´t get hurt yourself.

But what an opportunity! To live on a canal boat!  I would love that!  BUt . . . would there be security issues?  Good luck with your search anyway.

Cool....I was looking at getting a sloop to live on. Almost bought a Frisco Flyer, but chickened out at the last minute. It´s too hard to compress my posessions into such a small area.

You know wood boats require a tremendous amount of maintenance. You may want to look into that aspect of boat ownership. I did.

 Well that Frisco Flyer looks very small indeed.  Canal boats, on the other hand, can be quite spacious, although never as spacious as a house.

 It started out as a theme park....with rides like the "Dudu Coaster" and "Snarky Slides".  Now I am expanding....to total world domination!    {#lang_emotions_ninja}

 I wouldn´t mind to ride the Dudu "Coaster"! lol {#lang_emotions_shy}

 Sorry, we only have Direector Of International Scutiny available - will you do it?

 I happily accept.  Thanks for the opportunity.  I hope my work will discourage dudu´s everywhere from trying to take advantage of Aenigmaniacs!

Tomorrow I am hoping to go and look at canal boats........

Having had a fire at home a few weeks ago and therefore being effectively homeless at the moment, I am thinking I might use the money I get from insurance to buy a boat and move out of the city

How did you get on?

We looked at 6 boats in two different locations........

Most of the day the weather was poor - but every time we got out of the car to look at a boat the weather turned really nasty

The boats were:

1 - very nice but not really suitable for living aboard.  More like a family holiday boat.  Very nice double bed with a post in the corner

2 - obviously been built and fitted out by a family for living aboard.   Some very nice features but a bit tatty (not a problem) but with lots of wasted space like a HUGE kitchen area and an 8 foot section with absolutely no purpose.  But a boat with lots of character.   And the only one I looked at with a full size bath and a washing machine.

3 - shabby but with potential.  The big disadvantage being the the solid fuel stove was part way down the living area which would make having occasional bed space awkward.

4 - very basic - but nice.  I rather liked this boat but had very little scope for having visitors aboard and it had very little storage space.

5 - immediately fell in love with the living area and kitchen.  But then there was a walk-through loo/bathroom to get to the back and the bathroom was tatty and very basic.......not an arrangement I like!

6 - lovely living area and kitchen with a high level oven and microwave.  Very well fitted out but with another walk-through bathroom but much better than the previous boat.   Only 2 real issues with this one.......it was right at the top of my price range and it had no central heating so no heat in the bedrooms.

I saw no boat that I really totally fell in love with

But it has shown me that there may well be a boat out there that I can live on, will fall in love with, and that I can afford - it is just a matter of finding it!!!

Well at least you weren´t put off.  probably a good idea to go in bad weather, it shows them in their worst light. If that didn´t put you off you must be keen.

I remember having a girls´ holiday on the broads a few years ago.  The boat had three bedrooms, a galley kitchen, shower room and a living area.  My bed was right on top of the engine!!!  I had the job of cleaning out the sump every morning .  It was a great holiday though.

Happy hunting anyway and glad you seemed to have a great day.

To come to work dressed rather stupidly (more stupidly than normal that is) in aid of Children in Need............

I was thinking of donning my black cat suit with high boots and long wig, with belt and gun (toy of course) and come to work as Emma Peel but I have a serious forecast meeting tomorrow and not sure it would be appreciated {#lang_emotions_unsure}
