Merhaba to everybody,

I need to know if the Italian people need the passport to go in Turkey passing through for example Germay.

I know from Italy it´s enough the personal ID to go In Turkey, but if I my travel is:

 Milano - Munich

 Munich - Izmir

I will show my personal ID to Germany police passport control in airport.... They accept the Italian ID, allowing me to take the second flight to Izmir from Munich, or in this case I MUST show Italian passport?

Thanks in advantages fo rthe suggestion...

ciao!

Turkey has not been member of E.U. yet. That´s why you will need your passport to come to here. You dont need a visa for come. You can learn more info from here; http://www.mfa.gov.tr/default.en.mfa

Hello harp00n and thanks for your answer,

I know very well about  Turkey and EU community, and I know very well Italian and Turkish agreemets... the italian people DON´T need the  Passport for Turkey.... I came in Turkey many times just with my personal ID.

It means that if I travel from Milano to Istanbul and then to Izmir with just my personal ID there is no problem... I am sure about that, because I did it several times

My question is bit different because I conern about the italian people going to Turkey through another country, for example Milano - Munich- Izmir.  In that case if I haven´t passport everything could be ok?

Only when I am in Munich I need to "pass"  the police passport control to take the second flight, so if I show just my personal ID, the Germany police accept it? for them is it ok?

Thanks again

 Ciao!

Hi gahlouzm ,

What do you mean? Maybe I didn´t  understand your answer....

because  the italian people don´t need the passport to enter in Turkey.... I am sure about that if I start my travel directly from italy to turkey  I can show just my personal ID ...

but if I ( Italian person) come in Turkey from Germany I need absolutely to show my Italian passport? or my personal  ID it´s enough?

Thanks!

I  can´t see how it could be any different entering Turkey from Germany - if you are an Italian citizen who can normally enter Turkey on a personal ID surely it makes no difference where you are coming from?  It´s the requirement of the country you are entering that counts.

Both Germany and Turkey accept ID-cards for entering the country. The stamp you get on your visa-sticker in Turkey in your passport will now be given on a separate piece of paper. For Germany there are hardly any formalities, probably they won´t even check it very well as you come from an EU-country.
