in istubul i spent a night
wonderful city and bright light

in summer no other way
i have to walk day by day

i have to go there and see
the birds stell hopping in the tree

or hear turkish peoples feet
still goining past me in street

and does it seem hard to u
when i leave the mosque which is blue
and i should have so much to pay
to spend a wonderful day?

Hmmmmm - interesting - well poetry is a very individual thing isn't it and we all have our own 'style' - along with our own way of speaking - very distinctive

Your style is very distinctive too!

Reminds me of someone else's.....

Look forward to hearing more poetry

AZİZ İSTANBUL

Sana dün bir tepeden baktım aziz İstanbul!

Görmedim gezmediğim, sevmediğim hiçbir yer.

Ömrüm oldukça gönül tahtına keyfince kurul!

Sade bir semtini sevmek bile bir ömre değer.

Nice revnaklı şehirler görünür dünyada,

Lakin efsunlu güzellikleri sensin yaratan.

Yaşamıştır derim en hoş ve uzun rüyada

Sende çok yıl yaşayan, sende ölen, sende yatan.

Yahya Kemal Beyatlı
