LONDON — Two British tourists have died in separate incidents in the Mediterranean resort town of Marmaris, U.K. and Turkish officials said Tuesday.

Police in Turkey said they were investigating the deaths of two women and the bodies had been sent to the city of Izmir for autopsies. Britain’s Foreign Office confirmed the deaths and said both were believed to have happened Monday.

The state-run Anatolia news agency said the women’s bodies were found in their hotel rooms. The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Carolyn Jane Birch and 32-year-old Sarah Samantha Jones. Their hometowns were not yet known.

......

Very sad...here is what I found...

............. Sarah Jones, 32, was discovered dead in her hotel room by a shocked member of staff at the Palm Garden Hotel. She had been staying alone for a week´s holiday.... Sarah Jones, 32, is believed to have committed suicide at the nearby Palm Garden Hotel the day before she was due to return home.

............He said: "They checked into their room and within minutes Mr Birch phoned reception to say his wife was having an asthma attack.
"We immediately called the emergency services, who arrived within minutes, but it was too late."
Mr Korkut said before the ambulance arrived, Mr Birch had rung reception again to say his wife had died.

I have heard people often choose hotels to commit suicide in,  because their bodies are found fast.  What a horror for the cleaning persons!  Poor girl.  Things get better in time.  Patience.

Who knows what the truth is in these reports as one says Miss Jones was staying alone and the other says she was staying with a boyfriend.  The fact that they died in Turkey is academic really - just sad that they died on holiday.

Agree totally and it is also sad that speculation which must be very upsetting for the families.
