Edit footnotes

I used to follow this sequence when posting:
write
post
correct
correct again
and post.
Now I am doing the same with record number of footnotes indicating that. What is the advantage of having them as long as you are free to write whatever reason you want?

The advantage is that it´s fun - more often than not, the footnotes are more pleasant to read than the original post

The reason is just for you/other people, but the fact that it records the fact that a post was edited is because of security reasons.
