I am traveling to Fethiye next month, we have a short list of places to go see but I was wondering if any of you have been there and can tell us some other places that we can go see. Also, we are staying at the Sunshine Holiday resort. Anyone heard of it?

I would use some of the organized trips that you can find in any of the travel places in Fethiye. They are cheap and well worth it. Do leave a few days by the end of your trip to go back to the places you liked most.

Pamukkale - Long trip though but well worth it

Butterfly valley - near Oludeniz

The ghost village (Kayakoy)

12 Island boat trip - you get to see Cleopatras bath

Saklikent gorge

In fact here are some more - the usual touristy sort.

If you are adventurous you also have paragliding in Oludeniz (see my essay )

We want to go paragliding but we are unsure if we can afford it. We also want to take a ferry to Rhodes, trying to find a cheaper option for that. He wants to go to butterfly valley and there is a canyon he wants to see as well. We will definately take the 12 island tour since its only about 8 euros. I also want to see some of the ancient cities.

ive tried to find everything i could on our hotel, but the cheap price with a 4 star rating worries me. I hope it is because they are still new and trying to get more people. The manager, Ihsan, has been reall helpful so far! Im just not looking forward to our bus trip from Izmir to Fethiye, but we leave Fethiya a few days before i come back to NYC so i can see my boyfriends hometown and spend a day or 2 in Izmir.

im so excited! I am also hoping our hotel will have information on where we can go.

Yes it is - and you can do a trip to Pamukkale and Ephesus at the same time but this is an overnight trip and as Izmir is only about half an hour from Ephesus you won´t really need to do that!

The canyon your boyfriend wants to see is Saklikent Gorge - which was mentioned in an earlier post.

I am sure your hotel will have lots of brochures and details of local trips.  I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Here are some lovely photos of, and some information on, the Fethiye area.
