 But you can decide to write your thoughts below my thoughts. I think it is democracy and I like it as you.

 And as has been pointed out many times already, anyone can do as janis has done and make a huge fuss over nothing and start a whole diatribe about a column right here in the forums.  Wink

And ya know what, I would bet you that this silliness has gotten far more attention than posting a rebuttal in the column ever would.....and also had what is likely the opposite effect of what janis wanted...he drew more attention to the column so more people have probably read it now.

You´re right, girleegirl.

And democracy has another side.

"Ýddia sahibi iddiasýný ispatla mükelleftir. (Turkish)"

"The side of the plaintiff is responsible for her/his claim to prove.(English)"

 If you can not proved it, it will be a claim forever.

 Im the most criticized person on this site caným.

and this man is always flattered by mods but only I criticized his one sided negative thoughts about turkey and as usual u supportted him

Canim, a couple corrections:

- I am the most criticized person on TC, not you!

- everybody´s thoughs are one sided, because everybody has only their own perspective. your thoughts are one sided too, that is why we want many different people involved in a conversation to share their thoughts and hopefully get a bigger picture.

- mods or me do not support thehandsom, we do not owe him any money. sometimes we do AGREE with him!

Oh geezz... every LATEST column is on the main page!!!!! That´s just how it works!!!! Do you want to write your opinions on what´s going on in Turkey? If your column is the last one published, it will also be on the main page, no matter how nationalistic it will be!!! Head bang

Regarding theHansom´s column:

It says "The title of document is : ‘Irtica Eylem Plani’ which can be translated as ´Action Plan for Sheria´ ...

Note his translation....even a cursory look up for the words doesn´t show Sheria in what was supposed to have been translated.

Irtica=-aý (political, social) reaction

Eylem=1. action. 2. operation.

Plani= planimetry, plano- concave.

I don´t know much about Turkish politics and I´ve got more than enough on my own plate to worry about and try to untangle....but looking at just this much causes me to question the credibility of what has been written.  The particular choice of words seems to me a strategic choice to elicit maximun reaction....and given the "West´s" obsession and misunderstanding of Sheria these days, rather melodramatic.....and to add to that, no comments allowed on this one.  Of course theH knew this would cause furor....It is rather rude, but within what is allowed.   Out of 19 columns, this is the only one restricting comments, is it any wonder it has caused extra reaction?

It´s really not to difficult to decipher.  It seems fairly clear that, being as he said "can be translated" .....that he is taking "Sheria" from the body of the document...and not making a literal translation of the actual title.
