This is just a straight translation from a column from milliyet news paper..

Original text is here:  http://www.milliyet.com.tr/...a=NaN&ver=16

It is about the traumas of 12 September military coup d´état and the general she is refering to is Kenan Evren..

=================

Look at me general!

A sequal to the article written for Veysel Guney (who was hanged by the 12 september coup and his grave is still missing ) in radikal-2 by Ethem Dinçer at 06.09.2009  (http://www.radikal.com.tr/Default.asp......&Date=06.09.2009)

Look at me general!! Look at my face carefully, my child will be like me. Memorize my face, because sooner or later your grandchildren will apologise to my children. You are leaving unaccounted murders of yours to your grand child as their inheritance.

Your grand child is not going to be like you general. But my child will be like me.

Your grand child general.

Your grand child will learn what you have done from my writings. Like German children apologising to Jews everyday, now, your grandchilderen will apologize for the sins they did not commit to my children.

Look at me carefully general!! When you descended into this country´s throat, I was 8 years old..My mother cried that morning. My father´s face was older that morning. That how I learnt what sort of person you are. I will never forget that morning general. I read books, I listened to stories..You, with your sins, wanted to create a different person. But look at me, I am not..I general, I  as a person, am a victory against you. I am writing it here. Look at me general!! Because there are many like me in this country.

Look at me general! when you constructed gallows and made the Kurds salute a dog called ´Co´ in Diyarbakir prison, I was 9 years old..You did not let people write or talk, you made the entire country salute you and people like you, you made us forget the things. But hey, I can tell all your names and surnames  from my memory. Look at me general, My child will be like me. Like me, my child will also learn the names of brutal people by spelling out.

Can you tell me general, why did I need to know the name Commer? why do I need to know Co (the dog in diyarbakir prison)? why do I need to know the how many women were raped with police batons; people were left in septic tanks; people jumped up an down in order to stop their feet sticking to icy floor in Mamak prison when the icy water was poured at them? will you tell us general why I needed to know fathers forced to rape their own children? why was ´people kicking their own stools on the gallows´ in my dreams when I was 16? Why would Erdel Eren´s (E Eren was a boy hanged at 17) face would  be drawn into a 10 year old person´s memory? and can you think how a child can grow up in a country in which everybody pretends as if these things never  happened, learning to live without telling lies? How that person study and becomes a journalist?

I was 8 years old, you came along and gave me a life, a country and people like this. You gave me a life in which  the name of tyrants will never be forgotten.

General, you forced me to teach these things to my children.

Look at me general!

Look at me long and  carefully.

Memorize my name.  Because my child will be like me..

Erdal Eren shot a totally innocent soldier about his own age, while the soldier was keeping guard with an empty weapon. Erdal was caught, tried and convicted...He should have been handed over to the family of the soldier he murdered.

I guess it is best if I translate a paragraph from the article that inspired the columnist (

http://www.radikal.com.tr/Default.aspx?...e=06.09.2009  for the people who still support and love our own Pinochet!!

...

Bak bu Erdal Eren... Erdal’a iyi bak general. O hep 17 yasinda kaldi. Daha sakallari çikmamisti. Kaç kez kemik incelemesi yapilmasini istedi avukati. Son fotografa iyi bak general! Avukatin taleplerini yerine getirmek yerine ne yaptiniz hatirliyor musun? Avukati da tutukladiniz general! Erdal’in vurdugunu iddia ettiginiz asker, çok yakindan vurulmustu!

Look, this is Erdal Eren. Look at him carefully general, He remained at 17. He was that young that even he did not have his beard. His lawyer asked for bone inspection for his age. Have a good look at the last picture general!! Do you remember what you did instead of complying with his requests? you jailed his lawyer too..The soldier you accused Erdal shot, was shot from very close range. The report said that the soldier was shot from 5 to 35 cm distance..But Erddal was away for at least 13 meters!! The maximum punishment you could have given  to him was joining to an unauthorised protest. Why did you not  investigate the sceene? why was the soldier´s uniform not given to the court? was the soldier shot by another soldier by mistake general?

Sezen Aksu´s song the last look   was composed for him

"Son bakistaki o gözler kaldi aklimizda" ......"the eyes from his last look, stayed in our memory"

Those who pushed young Erdal forward to do their dirty work remained a secret.

They probably had convinced the poor boy that he would be off with a light punisment because he was a junior, when he comitted the murder.

Those dirty bastards are still around, pushing their innocent children forward to fight the security forces, then crying POLICE BRUTALITY !

I would highly recommend for my Turkish country men to read abit more about Erdal Eren and how he was hanged before jumping into defense of military brutality.

It is abit embarressing to think that Chilian  people took their fascist Pinochet  into the court but we Turks  could not do the same for our own..

One of the columns, titled as  ´theyhanged a kid´
