How is Turkey doing in this particular matter? Is it also trailing behind civilization?

How is Turkey doing in this particular matter? Is it also trailing behind civilization?

Nations are not judged merely by a bunch of parameters. It is wrong to call Americans barbarians because of their stance about homosexuality; it is equally wrong to point out to Turkey´s being a backward country compared to those civilized ones. There are indeed people who have found happiness here regardless of how the country seems to be from outside.

All these comments do gross injustice to people and their efforts in society. We often forget  that we would be in miserable condition without tbe providings of society. It is not money that turns us into proper individuals nor is it how advanced our society is.  I am not proud of my country because of its wealth or power, I am proud of it because it has had its share of contribution in what we call the world today.

We should really stop posting messages meant for provocating people rather than making a point.

 All I have to say is....there are many more important issues going on in the world than gay marriage.  Why do people care what other people do in their private lives anyway?  Just seems like another b*lls**t  issue to argue over and detract from real issues.  If people are in love and want to get married...more power to them!  Its not like there is much "sanctity" in heterosexual marriage with a divorce rate of nearly 60%!

Anyway, I don´t think it is barbaric....many Americans are still holding on to old traditions...whether you agree with it our not, that is the way the majority of people voted (31 states have voted against it).  It is going to take a long time to change the hearts and minds of people.

....just my thoughts anyway...yada, yada, yada

I was only checking you out guys.{#emotions_dlg.alcoholics}

How can you imagine a decent Turk like me in support of gay marriages ?

Our motto is "Why advertise it, if you are a pervert?"

 Yes I agree. Far better to let these "perverts" pretend they are "normal", get married, have children, make their wife/husband miserable because they are not at all sexually attracted to them, indulge in secret ´back street´ liasons putting their partners at risk also from sexually transmitted diseases and live a life of fear, dreading exposure of their true selves to the narrowminded homophobes who may physically/mentally attack them.... !!!!!!

 I guess I´m one of those barbarians...and I don´t believe that holding onto traditional beliefs and one´s own morals has anything to do with being civilized.

Define traditional lol

In ancient Greece homosexual relationships were quite popular

And moral values have also varied throughout years and cultures

 Well, good for the Greeks. {#emotions_dlg.bigsmile} I also heard Ataturk was gay! I don´t have a problem with gays...my son´s godfather is gay.  I have issues with marrying the same sex.  Regarding MY own morals and values, they have not changed.
