Looking through your forum posts I can see quite a few where you have used the word and its derivatives - a couple of times in direct translation but more often as a comment - and you say only one post has been deleted?

Trudy has obviously modified her post after your comment but it´s pointless if you don´t modify your quote.

Well - in my personal opinion, using asterisks like this is okay as this is how it is done in the press but on TC it´s not okay to use the word with or without asterisks as part of an attack on a person/people.  I´m sure you´re intelligent enough to understand the difference.

I guess the original post was asking about the meaning of users names. I reckon the question here is about our real names which we are not supposed to reveal. Nonetheless, since I have nothing to hide, I will give it a go:

I have three names: Sabri Akin Ilicali. Sabri means patient, Akin means a rush or raid.  With two such names coming one after another, one would expect I must have contradictions in my life. There is a seed of truth in that.

My surname Ilicali points out to the location where my family (paternal) originates: the village of Loutros in Evros province in Greece which used to be called Ilica when it was under Turkish rule.

There is another village named Ilica in Erzurum but these two are completely unrelated.

The Independent normally uses the full word................  but for me it depends on what context it is used really, if you are describing something then maybe OK but as you say, if you are calling someone then not!  But we have a rule for all that so we better stick to it.......

 Well according to my name (and that is my real name) I like people and I am superb in bed!  I guess it means I like my sleep mwahahahahaha  ................

I like the fact that Turkish names actually mean something. It´s the same with traditional Polish/Slavic names, not really true for modern ones (or names coming from foreign languages).

According to the list posted, my real name means:

"I like to drink -  I like to drink again haha - I like to drink again haha - I like to drink"

Now that´s what I call destiny
