The rumor is that a different version of Bible called BARNABAS BIBLE is in existence; a copy of which can be found in the above link.

Having read the text, I can understand why the Catholic Church is trying so hard to discredit the book, as well as the disciple (Barnabas)who recorded it. Their main point of objection must be  Section 17.

Good news is that an original copy of the book seems to have been unearthed in Turkia. It is said to be in safe hands.

This is what is so hilarious about religions!! lol  And I suppose we can next expect a post about how so much of the Quran is wrongly translated blah blah

What is even funnier is that Alpha thinks that we give a damn, when, with the exception of a few bed amerikans, most people don´t actually care and/or are not religious, let alone catholic!

you are sooooo right that´s what they say about estonian translation and that´s why i don´t have it in estonian but in russian - coz this is (in oppinion of specialists) more correct translation than estonian.

Barnabas Bible is either a version cooked up by Moslems, not very likely because early records of it predates Mohammad,.....or it is the real thing.

It is interesting that in this version (section 17) Jesus Christ the prophet seems to inform his people that another prophet will be coming after him...It happens that Ouran, in complete belief that Christ is god´s prophet and is endowed with a divine book called Incil (Bible)...mentions that Jesus had mentioned another prophet will be forthcoming. in his genuine god sent book.

Makes one wonder about the quality of the Vatican copy.

The importance and significance of concepts like  God. religions, prophets, holy books outweight your relatively modest opinions and existence by a very wide margin my dear partner. In short, whether you care or not is irrelevant.

Better go by the real good book, if you want to see the heaven. {#emotions_dlg.alcoholics}

I have read all your religious books and really do not think I am risking "hell" by not following any of them, as, in my opinion, I am no better or worse than 99% of the rest of the population!  Also, as none of you can agree on which of your "man made" books is the true one, how do you know YOU will see your "heaven/paradise" ?

 My dear partner, alas for you, I am not alone in my humble opinions and share it with a huge majority of academics, scientists and scholars (the like of which would have Yilgun falling to his knees in ecstacy) - so what makes them of such "importance" to you may not mean much to others.  Live and let live sweetie, but don´t think you can antagonise westerners here with your posts about Catholicism

 What exactly are you calling "the real thing"? lol

Real?  Firstly, lets just clarify - you are talking about the New Testament.  If we believe that Jesus existed at all, whether he was a "son of God", so-called prophet, or a very clever orator, this was written some 100-300 years AFTER Jesus died.  It cannot be taken as a quoted, word for word, account of what Jesus said.  They are "accounts" of what happened, in the opinion of the writer, hundreds of years after events took place.  I believe if any of us tried to remember what you said in 300 years time, we may make some mistakes   (frankly if I tried to remember what you said in 3 mins time I would have a problem) ...

Or...all versions are fairy stories, so what does it matter?

Secondly, the quality of the Vatican copy - very very dubious!!! There are no original manuscripts surviving.  The Vatican´s most complete manuscripts (Vatican MS. No. 1209 and the Sinaitic Syriac Codex) are dated 300 AD.  The originals were either carelessly lost or never existed.  If they did exist, what is followed now are copies of copies of copies of the "original"

And one final word  The Sinaitic Syriac Codex used by the vatican DOES include Barnabas and his "unknown apostle"

So in answer to your question, yes the Vatican are following that, but whether ANY of it is true or not is another story! {#emotions_dlg.super_cool}
