Quoting lady in red

I asked TC if he objected to some corrections to his English and he replied ´not if it will help me learn´.  After that he said he spoke English like a native - which I found arrogant and rather contradictory.  I have not come across any other Turkish person on this site who claims to ´speak English like a native´ and there are many who clearly (from the way they write) speak it equally as well or better than he does.

....and, if I attempted to post a poem I had translated from English to Turkish I would certainly expect to be told where I went wrong!

How could he object without appearing arrogant?  I think you and Reyhan are just taking some war you had with TC in the translation forum into this one because you feel you have to "knock him down"???

Anyway, it was just my opinion...but yes, this kind of correction spoils the poetry and lyrics forums..

Why did it disturb you so much?

Well - when I was 16 years old, (and now I´m 20 ) I have joint an exam which lasted for 7 hours and I got a diploma by the TURKISH REPUBLIC GOVERNMENT and I have been recognized an authority to give private lessons for English.

I can also speak Greek. My teacher was a Greek and he taught me Greek in English, likewise my Spanish teacher thaught me Spanish in English.

I have also some certificates about the sufficienty in English.

I think I have right to claim that English is my SECOND NATIVE LANGUAGE!

Okay?

I´m not talking WITHOUT a basement, this is my own idea about myself, I didn´t comment about other ones, but I didn´t understand how it turned into a discussion.

I´m trying to teach people here something, I have been spending my hours AND WHAT AM I DISCUSSING FOR ? FUNNY!

thx

Sorry - I had no idea you were so young!  From your comment that you had been learning and studying English for ´a very long time´ I assumed you were much older. I think it is very good of you to add your lessons to the others on the site but I will never accept that you can have two native languages!
