in one of Orhan Pamuks books he puts a quote and I tried to translate ir myself but it didnt make sense, please help. it made me interested in what he meant by it in telling a child hood story of love.

"dilim de varmiyor o sozcugu soylemeye ama Allah´ta seni guldursun"

is the an atasozu like ´beni guldurdun ama Allahta seni guldursun?´ (you laugh at me but God laughs at you..) it sounds familiar, i wanted to know if this is taken into context for this sentence above.

Beni güldürdün. You made me laugh.

Allah da seni güldürsün. And may God make you laugh.

It´s not a proverb - it´s a phrase that is used to express gratitude. You can use it when somebody makes you laugh - literally.
