The first thing i can say, this depends on the place you are planning to visit/live.

But ofcourse, there are districts where are conservative, but it has changed alot since the TV and internet are spreading all over the country. The only thing to be careful would be dressing, not that it is wrong but to prevent yourself from unwanted occassions, if you are walking or travelling alone. As we are still intending to comment and judge people, according to their dressings...

For family meetings etc.. elder people would love to be kissed on their hands and put on your forehead to show the respect, and no leg-over-leg while sitting together in a room.

Actually this is not like this for me, my family and my neighbourhood, but still the tabus are existing.

If you are a woman don´t touch men while talking.

If some man stare at you with his eyes shining, huge smile at his face and little bump infront of him do not smile at him (if you don´t want to start a relationship ofcourse)

Learn the place before you go and have clothes according to their acceptance (Don´t go istanbul fath with a mini-skirt,)

If you are a man, we really do not like to hear from you how beautiful or girlfriend-wife-sister or mother.Keep it to yourself.

Men can shake hands some one theyjust meet or after a shopıng deal but women should not.(hey can with women)

Kiss from both chick, right first, left later(your right and left).Dont make left first or you end up kissing lips accidently and it is pretty akward ( a few of my amerikan friend know taste of my lips because of that)

Women do not smoke where are men older from you if you are in to family visit or some one invited you to their house( if you ask me dont smoke at all, it kills you)

Women, be carefull with hitchiking.

Always ask the price before you eat something.

If you need to travel alone late, buy a turkish newspaper and keep it some place people can see it, make it look like you read it.

Women when you are tarvellig alone, if more then 2 guys says you something nasty (you ll understand from their reactions) do not answer, do not start to run, just look infront, never look them, walk faster towards some one else, to some other women or a shop.

....I ll add more later.....
