The weather was very warm and humid on May 15, but unfortunately it was not a sunny start to the day when two donkeys, Duman and Linda got ‘married.’

There was a good crowd, including television crews, journalists and guests, all curious to see what would happen at this strange event. Enver Yalçın owns the male donkey. He also owns the Nomad Museum in Kargı, Fethiye. He had sent out some 3,000 invitations and was hoping for crowds up to 10,000, but not all the guests chose to come.

In the end, no more than a few hundred wedding guests showed up over the course of the day. Nevertheless, the wedding between the two donkeys took place on schedule in Kargı and Günlükbaşı, near Fethiye, Muğla on Saturday, May 15 and was deemed to be a great success by all.

A group of musicians playing traditional wedding music on loud, vibrating davuls (drums) and zournas (a uniquely loud reed instrument), which whipped up a lively atmosphere and got everyone in the mood for a party. Duman contributed a solo or two of his own to the occasion.

"The two donkeys were finally escorted back to Kargı as the sun broke through the clouds. The happy couple was settled in to their new stable, and the celebrations continued long into the afternoon."

It´s too bad, it looks like they didn´t get to go anywhere special for the honeymoon.

Hehe!... Perfect picture!... Now I defy anyone who wouldn´t admit that Turkey is the most-open minded, most modern and most tolerant country, putting forward those old-fashined, primitive and banal gay/lesbian marriages in the West! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

This post grabbed my intrest, so I wrote to the Pony club in the U.K. They said about this marriage, that it wasn´t legal, the fact that they didn´t go for blood tests is beside the point and didn´t run around Istanbul with a pen and 50 Lira in their hooves, they said, I asked what is required for any 2 donkey´s to marry in any country they gave me the following rules

1. They most must be donkeys, we will not tollerate horse,pig or dog spermicidal transfussion.

2. Donkeys must satisfy all the rules of section A1 which states

´there can not be a donkey mariage of convienience ergo you cannot marry a donkey you met 6 months ago on a beach carrying children around chewing F@@@@ tabbacco and thiking he/she is Gods gift to donkeyism´.

3. The donkey MUST smell of dung and stuff if not he/she is not a donkey and all visa applications under these rules will not be accepted no exceptions!!

In my opinion they are being harsh, I think donkeys are great why shouldn´t they marry,the thing is donkey males put it all up front, ´look I stink, I don´t wash my tail that often, and I leave things in the ashtray that you rather wouldnt see´

and humans only learn this after years of marriage long live the donkey king and all of his habits)
