Morning for you but night for me. I will take off now but want to wish you first:

Good Morning, dear friends
From me to you!
May God bless you
In all that you do!
May He help you all the day,
May He gide you all the way;
When the sun sits where you are,
Still He'll be your Morning Star.

Wish Good night to me.
Take care all.

Sweet dreams to everybody. May everybody who has a far-away-love realize that each night you sleep alone, it brings you closer to the day you won't sleep alone anymore

I'm gonna sleep the distance away now, like Kadir once said to me. It's a good cure for loneliness

I have a day off tomorrow and I will watch film with my best friend. She's already called me a couple of times begging me not to go to Turkey, all in tears, then apologizing saying she understands why i must go and that she is happy for me and Kadir.. It's our friends who make our world, isn't it?

Therefore I wish all my friends here goodnight, and peaceful dreams. Take care

FRIEND YOU'RE MISSED

Our book of friendship
has been left wide open,
half way through--
missing you,waiting for you...
To pen more incidents,
to share more things,
to experience more of
our friendship times,
and add to the pages...
of our book.
Hope it won't be long
when we'll start off
right from where we left.

Good morning sophie! The end of summer is nothing to celebrate here I must arrange another visit to Turkia before the dark days of winter arrive

Hi aenigma and sophie,I agree autumn can be a beautiful season but winter is just round the corner and I find it very depressing sophie maybe we could exchange places and I could spend winter in Thessaloniki

Joey mou, winters in Thessaloniki are really soft, with temperatures from 5 to 10 degrees. But still, they are winters and I HATE winters

However, nothing can stop me from enjoying autumn, my fav season Not even the fact that 'winter is just round the corner'.

BUT i could leave my place to you, to spend the winter here. The only thing I need, is to find a place in Caribbean to spend MY winter

Are you kidding.......
The cooler weather means we can get a different wardrobe of clothing out - and we can get a little more lazy. Less shaving of the legs is required as they will be covered up more often in public!!!

And think about all those yummy layered fashions
We will be back to being able to wear 3 or four layers on top - and skirts over our trousers - that is a good enough reason to celebrate if ever I have heard one

Çünkü, Bod, ben ailemle kalıyorum. Ben içtiğim zaman sapıtıyorum - bağırıyorum, çağırıyorum, ağlıyorum, gülüyorum, jiletle bileklerimi kesiyorum, annemle babamı öldürmekle tehdit ediyorum. Onlar da üzülüyorlar.

Because, Bod, I live with my family. When I drink, I go nuts -I shout, scream, cry, laugh, cut my wrists with a razor blade, threaten my parents with killing them. And they become sad.

I have never called anyone a half-brain. I believe that would be unnecessary. Because such people already provide enough evidence for everyone to understand how they rank on the IQ scale.

People become offensive, aggressive or even criminal mostly because they lack the basic skills required for competing with others in a state of equality.

You can't discuss with a desperado he has no interest in debating, he would like to turn the whole thing into a quarrel and then into a brawl. Because that's where he feels stronger.

There are also those bystanders. Some stand there just to kill time but some of them give support to the desperado, although not being desperados themselves. These people are the victims of passive aggression. When it comes to having the desire to see a fight they can match some of the most notorious desperados. When it comes to defending their own ideas, they have nothing to say.

My mistake from the beginning was getting involved in this gutter fight.

You of course deserve the accusations you are directing at yourself inadvertently. It is good to see that you are beginning to question yourself. That is indeed a very healthy reaction. Any wise person reading your past messages will tell you that.

You have the belittlers, those who belittle others in order to protect their own poor sense of self and because of their own fear of being demeaned. There is something truly revealing about their low self-esteem. When you break the words up into “don’t be little”, you see that the prescription has to be applied to thy self, before you can be in a place to lift up the self of another. Until they seek counseling to help free themselves from their defensive behavior, they will continue to cast shadows on the presence of those with whom they defensively interact with.

Then you have the communicaters, those who think they sound smarter when they use big words. The truth of the matter is that smart communicators use words that they understand and their readers are likely to understand. The purpose is to communicate, if the person reading your writing doesn’t understand what you are trying to say, it defeats the purpose.

I wasn't referring to you in anyway Elisabeth. Your opinions must actually have more weight here than ours because this is a site for the learners of Turkish language and it directly appeals to you for that reason.

You are of course free to say whatever you want to. For example, what do you think about Turkish males? Your husband is a Turk. Does he oppress you? Is it nice to make generalizations the way catwoman and femme made. What is your own experience like?

I know you weren't referring to me directly but since you asked what I feel about Turkish males, specifically my husband, I will tell you. My husband and I have a very normal relationship. He helps me cook, clean, take care of my son, I have never been oppressed. Of course in my opinion there is a HUGE difference between a well educated man and a very poor man who is despirate to change his destiny. I think many of the opinions about Turkish men are formed because of many women who encounter the latter. I have not lived their experiences, so I try not to judge other peoples opinions. I do, however, agree or disagree and say why. In doing so, I have been both agreed with or deeply critisized. I also realize when I am critisized that these people have not lived my experience so I try not to be overly sensitive about it.

Perception changes reality and vice versa...

Maybe that is their perception and they are basing it on their particular experience. My husband is neither aggressive or indulgent in porn. Although my ex-husband, who is American was both aggressive and addicted to porn. As far as Turks having genetic flaws....who knows...I am not a genetisist....just a woman who fell in love with a man who happens to be Turkish....

I would just like to say that I am soon to be married to a Turkish man and find these kind of implications both insulting and totally untrue.I am sure Catwoman and Femme_Fatel havent said anything of the nature you seem to be suggesting.I suggest also you take a look at yourself and examine the possibility that you are behaving just the smallest bit childish by being so sarcastic and talking to other members about the problems with you may be encountering with other people who arent here to defend themselves.More over maybe if you wish to argue you should find a more appropriate medium for doing so.

well, NY has already burnt 9/11 thanks to some nice eastern guys who tried to burn down the sins of infidels.

nope, fine, vineayrds fine, just help yourself with some raki and a bit of porno. thats absolutely fine with me. people love entertaining themselves with some striptease. why not? we are free to do whatever we wish to, right?

you disagree with me on women discrimination, but porno and alchohol is OK to you?
no turkish male (except for erdinc) has ever protested against male prostitution in resorts, honor killings, opression of women, but instead they praise themselves as handsome lovers, protectors of traditions and faith.

how do you digest those verses from koran? (oh, you have of course read all the holy books, tho i bet you havent got a clue on them) how do you justify injust attitude towards women? how can you live in the society where the majority of women are humiliated and seen as the object of sex, or daughters as a good party to trade for a marriage?

Quoting vineyards:

I don't know what kind of a super oriental setting some of us live in but I can assure you we have no shortage of entertainment in Istanbul.

Vineyard is right, there's no shortage of real porno where he lives (and not only there)...... it's served regularly with daily news plus saturday specials!

Good. Do you find Turks a bit aggressive and barbarous because most of them are muslims? Could they have some genetic flaws as Femme_fatal asserted or do you think Turkish males including your husband are extremely indulgent in porn as catwoman claims?

well, NY has already burnt 9/11 thanks to some nice eastern guys who tried to burn down the sins of infidels.

nope, fine, vineayrds fine, just help yourself with some raki and a bit of porno. thats absolutely fine with me. people love entertaining themselves with some striptease. why not? we are free to do whatever we wish to, right?

you disagree with me on women discrimination, but porno and alchohol is OK to you?
no turkish male (except for erdinc) has ever protested against male prostitution in resorts, honor killings, opression of women, but instead they praise themselves as handsome lovers, protectors of traditions and faith.

how do you digest those verses from koran? (oh, you have of course read all the holy books, tho i bet you havent got a clue on them) how do you justify injust attitude towards women? how can you live in the society where the majority of women are humiliated and seen as the object of sex, or daughters as a good party to trade for a marriage?

like birds are flying, plane too, so there has to be atmosphere

Maybe if sense of humour would be defined in dizzied eyes, like you keep posting me, you would lost it, too. Of course, you do not know my eyes, i do not know yours. I just emit the hypotesis that you sometimes jump to conclusions without looking at what are you jumping over.

this message is for libra:

im going to bed now, but before i go to toilet, i will brush my beautiful white teeth, then i spend a little time on a toilet seat thinking about the human history back to 25 000 years and their unknown (unproven) goddess. i will be thinking what the hell creationism has to do with goddess worshipping. wondering if she brought that issue out from her back pocket where she keeps her mirror in case she forgets about herself today when lacked anything worthy to say or simple lack of knowledge on history at all.

after that i will put my pyjama on, that kate moss style. maybe i should upload my picture posing in my sexy pyjama?

oh, i must plan of what to post in TC tomorrow. i know, i will post what clothes i will put on, then i will post hmmmm.... whatever, ah, it doesnt matter at the end. TC will get used to my crappy and stupid posts with no valuable info included, the most important thing is ME.

after that i will put my pyjama on, that kate moss style. maybe i should upload my picture posing in my sexy pyjama?

oh, i must plan of what to post in TC tomorrow. i know, i will post what clothes i will put on, then i will post hmmmm.... whatever, ah, it doesnt matter at the end. TC will get used to my crappy and stupid posts with no valuable info included, the most important thing is ME.

How is this post any different from the ones people complain about?   It reads to me like a female version of a "cobra" post! lol

So - seriously - do you think we should have a list of unnaceptable words?

You are right though - sometimes it is WHO says it rather than what is said.  Cynic somehow had a way of making most of his comments sound unpleasant - rather different to the general ´evil brit´ ´bed amrikan´ ´fat-assed amrikan´ type comments that get bandied about and no-one takes seriously or is insulted by.

yes, "alienated" should be one of those words. Catwoman considers that word a "disgusting insult", or she thinks so only when It`s me who says that.

Personally, I find clowns very creepy......but not insulting.

As far as what should be deleted -I think anyone can take anything as an insult....however, I think, and this is only my opinion, that only truely vulgar words should be deleted.

I think that feeling insulted is a risk you take when you post your thoughts on an open and public forum.

Problem is: what is really vulgar? Words some people never use because they find it horrible, can be - translated in other languages - be not too offensive, vulgar or rude. For an example: a word for a certain female body part is quite often used here, it is rude but no one feels offended but I´ve learned from American friends that same word in English is VERY offensive and vulgar.

You have a point Trudy.  I would consider the word you mention extremely crude and offensive and would have no hesitation in deleting a post including it.  But words like (better use stars here!) s*** and b*gg** are used quite freely in the UK and not generally considered terribly offensive (although I wouldn´t use them to my mother!) However, I am sure there are some people who would consider these words very offensive - so where do you draw the line?

 You poor victim

yes, im a victim. here are my thoughts about it.

cynic complained about the words "clownish" or idiotic". and cat had to react to that. she reacted anyway because there was too much of heavy insulting from the departed member (PBUH). what did cat do? she just had to delete my or tami´s posts just wherever she found those words.

it takes cat a second to read a post and another second to delete it.

and it is easy to manipulate cat. its enough to file a complaint and there goes a deletion process, i.e. automatic.

most of the time cat deletes my posts for a balance to show how she is more objective or neutral. she needs to do so for crying babies. why me?  but whom if not me? would she delete Trudy´s or GG´s? DD´s or Lisa´s or yours?

im saying this just to express it, im not crying over my posts, they arent precious or valuable info is contained in them.

some of the mods delete to show their power.

whatever, just wanted to express myself

im so happy, even if snowing there now, and everybody saying its stupid to go in winter time, but i prefer it milion times more than -20 in here....but general reason is ....i need to rest, only in this magic city i could do it, with my old and new friends...only 7 days from today...

Elena think that we are missing to summer but ppl in africa missed to winter , so maybe we are lucky
