The Eurovision 2010 is on air right now.

Lets share our ideas here...

Don´t say who wins yet! I´m taping it The X-factor finals of Holland are at the same time, and since the majority in my house wanted to see X-factor first, I will watch eurovision later. So please just say who you think is bad or good, but don´t tell me who wins in the end

Eurovision is now already something that no serious music authorities, fans and listeners care about. Put aside ABBA, the whole eurovision history could be summerized as "Much ado about nothing!"

You are right gezegen many songs are not very well. But generally the top 5 occurs by really nice songs generally. How could we meet Alexandre Rybak?

Eurovision is still enjoyable. A nice habbit which 150 million people watch alive the saturday of the 3rd week of may.

Sucah as this year Germanies song is awesome...

Ofcourse the song contest has given us a lot of horrible songs I don´t watch expecting the best music. But sometimes there are some ice song in between, and I´m entertained

I´m guilty of enjoying Eurovision I know the songs are lame and so on but it´s nice to see representatives of so many countries and...listen to their strong accents killing English (especially the former Soviet Union countries hahahha). I miss the years when all participants had to sing in their native languages.

I liked the Serbian song, I love these Balkan trumpets so characteristic of Bregovic. And it was fun to make out the lyrics (a huge plus for me for singing in Serbian!). I just hated Milan´s haircut...

I think Georgia had a good song, so did Turkey and Ukraine

Ha... the eurovision is friggin laughable! it´s all politics, money n history! BLOCK VOTING yet again!!!!!!  why go to the bother of sending in a song, we all know who´s gonna vote 4 each other 

I liked Turkeys song and Belgium´s song, I didn´t like Germany´s song, the singer had a very nasaly voice, which wasn´t nice..... and of course I liked Irelands song just a pity we´re an island and don´t have lots of neighbours to vote 4 us 

I think Niamh didn´t stand a chance because voters focus on the performance rather than quality of the song. I think Ireland would do way better if they had some Gaelic traditional musical motifs and dancers doing Riverdance  

But of course block voting is killing Eurovision. Balkans voting for Balkans, Portugal voting for Spain etc

I love Niamh, I thought she was great, but then again I am biased , I remember her back in 93 during the glory days!!  

Yea, i agree, a bit of the aul Riverdance wud go down a treat hehe. But it wouldn´t make a difference, heck I cud get up there and warble out of tune 4 a bit n do some of my Irish dancing and we´d still get the same result Irlanda nil point thank u very much hehe

True, block voting turns the whole organization into a pig circus but it also reflects the general state of the things in Europe. If it weren´t for such a large scale organization like Eurovision we would rely on guesswork to determine who loves or hates whom and to what extent. We must consider this event as a major poll organization giving us a snapshot of love/hate relationships.

Of course, this is no Woodstock and apart from the kaboom that lasts one or two shows, many of the participants will have no chance to turn this into a lasting presence in the international musical scene.

I like Germany´s entry, yes the singer is so cute. No objections about its being the number one but in the end it is just a cute song that will probably be forgotten next year. Time will show.

Of all the songs I listened to, the one from Armenia seemed to be the one with the greatest potential. It follows the formula once used by the likes of Khachaturian: local tunes converted into international music. Armenia is a country of great sufferings. This point reflects in their music, in their surnames and their general attitude toward life. Yet it also provides a strong mucial texture in which traditional instruments like the duduk provide an awesome scenery of desperation and deprivation. Most people will agree Turkey is a diversified country, just like we share a lot musically with countries like Greece and Bulgaria, Syria, we share the same taste in music with the Armenians. As a matter of fact, the roots of their music was sawn in the heart of Anatolia and it is still very alive. As for the song itself, I would say good singer, good music and good enough stage performance but the concept could be developed a bit more professionally.
