According to a study by Monash Univercity, Australia, based on 850000 road accidents, black coloured cars get involved in accidents 12% more than white coloured ones in daytime and 47% more in the nighttime.

The safest colours for cars are reportedly white and yellow.

I think it also has to do with the different taste of people. Perhaps dangerous people choose the colour black more often.

Could be, but when I looked at buying an automobile, I went for white. The reason was for safety. A white car is more easily visible, whereas a black car is in the shadow range. I have a black cat who disappears in the shadows, I think a black car would do the same.

I had a black car for 7 years (VW Golf) and loved it - and it was in the same condition when I sold it (sob sob!)  Only problem with black, they always show the dirt
