it will be easier for you and is a really pleasure to talk in turkish with natives in Turkey - they will be more than happy{#emotions_dlg.bigsmile}..and how can you enjoy your trip without language knowledges; it is nice to know meanings of different stuff from there; and if the natives will hear you asking in turkish, even your language mistakes they will ask: wow, do you know turkish, where are you from, how did you learn turkish, because they are very very very friendly

have a nice trip

my best regards

You should try to learn a few basic words and sentences in my opinion. In tourist areas knowing English will help. It is courteous to learn ´please´ (lütfen) and ´thank you´ (teşekkür ederim) or thanks (teşekkürler).

Yes (evet) and no (hayır) are basic words that are easy to learn.

Knowing the Turkish numbers is also useful for knowing how much to pay.

Learn to ask ´where is ....´ and ´when is ......´.

You will often be asked ´where are you from?´ and you should be able to answer.

"Filipinlerliyim" (I think this is correct for "I am a Filipino".)

Anyway, your question would be similar to a Turk asking whether he needed to learn Filipino before coming to the Philippines. What would you say to them?  Everything depends on where you go and how independently you want to travel.

I would spend a maximum of 1000 euro in a week, but that would be including everything, including the hotel, my planetickets, all of my food, the bus, etc. Actually, I don´t think I ever spend as much as 1000 in Turkey on a week long holiday If you don´t account for the planeticket, and just count for trips, the hotel, food, tips, all of that, I think my average for a week would be...ohw...pfff... less than 400 euro. But ofcourse you should always be able to spend more than that. You don´t want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere, not able to pay your busticket back
