Turky is the most expensive country for car rental

Turky is the most expensive country when it comes to renting a car. The tourists who are aware of the prices like €41 in Spain, €42 in France and €33 in Portugal, are not willing to pay in €48 in Turky.

According to a survey in UK, Turky is the most expensive in Europe. Bülent Samancı, owner of a car rental firm which provides luxury cars, said our customers pay €250 a day for BMW cars compared to €150 in Germany. The high prices are because of the higher tax rates when importing the cars (most of their cars are imported, he said).

Last October/November, from Kusadasi, per day. I have to say, I used that rental service many times before, so I was able to haggle about the price.

The general price of car rentals around many areas is 50tl or around £20/Euros for petrol or diesel cars. LPG are cheaper as the price of fuel is less. To pay more is very silly and people must have too much money to pay so much for a rental. If you have friends you can maybe get the price a little bit cheaper. I normally use uncle Alis car .

What is Turky for God´s sake? The English name of our country is Turkey and it doesn´t mean turkey the bird when we use it to refer to our country.  It is just a homonym like thousands of others. Those ridiculing Turkish people for this reason are ridiculous people themselves. Let us stop attempting to change English words.

When in Turkey I don´t rent cars from major cities or near airports.  I try to find them in smaller cities (I have rented cars in Selcuk, Aydin, Nazilli and Denizli).  Car companys in these places tend to be much more reasonable.  When I was last in Turkey, I rented a mini van for 3 weeks and it cost about $550 USD (which was about $26/day).  If you are able to rent from these out of the way places, you are sure to find a bargain...especially in the off seasons.  Most of these business owners are very grateful to have your business and are willing to work out a deal.
