On the eve of the Pope´s visit to Britain, an industry watchdog group has banned an Antonio Federici ad featuring a pregnant nun eating ice cream that reads, ´´Immaculately Conceived´´ and ´´Ice Cream You Can Believe In." The company says it intends to defy the ban in the name of free expression and its right to use "gentle humor" to question "the attitudes of the church to social issues." The watchdog saw the ad as "a distortion and mockery of the beliefs of Roman Catholics." No word yet on their stand on priests abusing many small children in the name of those beliefs.

I think you have completely misunderstood the point!! The fact is, the ad has been banned so that it did not offend THE POPE! The large ad was displayed along the route where the pope was passing by, so they decided it had to go. We are not a catholic country and yet we being too politically correct, as always.
There are MANY WORDS and protests on Britain´s stand on priests abusing children - do you not watch the news or read newspapers? The majority of British people do not support the Pope´s visit - we are not a catholic country and only a small majority of people are devout catholics. We disagree with the Catholic churches stand on contraception, homophobia, sexism and the fact that they cover up child abuse within their community) and resent paying for this expensive visit and do not see the point. To add insult to injury, the Pope´s adviser has insulted us and made very racist comments.

No word? You dont read the news? You just pick out bits of news that suit you?
"Thousands turn out to protest again the Pontiff"

One child abuse victim, says of the UK "We´ve been called a soulless, spiritually barren country, compared revoltingly to Nazis because we don´t choose to believe in the man made strictures of a closed and dark society," she said.
"Well I´ve experienced nothing but love, compassion, grace, dignity and support from every single one of you and those are my values.
"The only thing I experienced from the Catholic church are pain, anger, disgust, lies and shame."

Political correctness is absurd. You can´t paint portraits of somebody´s prophet or they´ll kill you, you can´t show pregnant nuns to pope or he´ll get offended. Soon, Little red Riding Hood will be banned on the charge that it promotes grandmacide
In Poland, a beer advert hung on a building opposite the Wawel crypt, where the president- Lech Kaczynski - who died in the plane crash in April, is buried, was banned. The advert read "Cold Lech" and was considered bad taste. It might be true if it weren´t for the fact that the banner with these words had been there long before the plane crashed.
