Perhaps more importantly, how could anyone stand and film that baby but do nothing?! It seems that good ratings on youtube are more important than lives now...

It was a security camera on the highway. Security cameras can zoom in but I do agree with you on other videos how some people film bad incidents on their camera and just stand their like a lemon and don´t do anything... you feel like screaming at them to put the camera down and help!

Ahh ok thanks busyb I didn´t realise it - but yes, I agree with you about nobody stopping :S Its weird. Once I was driving to work and suddenly had to stop because the traffic was at a complete standstill. I waited for 10 minutes and then got out the car to see what was going on... a family of ducks were crossing the road (mother duck and about 10 ducklings!!!!!).
So...what the hell was wrong with those drivers swerving around the baby?!!!!

... a family of ducks were crossing the road
A man and his daughter were killed and his wife seriously ingured when a motorist stopped to let ducks cross on the hightway(speed limit of 100Km/hrs)
The life of animals seems to be more inportant than the life of humans

It is called not getting involved, someone else will take care of the situation. If someone would have stopped to help the child and "harmed" the child the parents could have sued for injuring the child.

In the news report I read it said that an HGV driver saw the child and slowed the rest of the traffic and in doing so the mother saw her child sitting there. But the police were called and they returned the child to the mother by drivers. She said the child was asleep under a tree whilst she was begging on the side of the road and she did not realise it was was awake. The cameras were security cameras.

Fortunately all ended well.
but, is it not rather sad that the mother has to beg to get a living and leave her child asleep under a tree??

Yes, if that were in fact the case. OTOH, it could be she prefers this mode of generating income.....some do.

The thing is, that SOMEONE else who would take care of it DID get involved which so happened to be (as libralady said) the driver of a lorry/truck. He slowed down to make the other traffic do so too. If that "someone" didn´t get involved then maybe that baby wouldn´t have had such a lucky escape. The mother couldn´t have sued in the first place as she was the one who neglected her child by placing it under a bush to sleep. She was given the child back but in places like the UK etc if that were to happen, the mother would have been arrested and most likely sentenced for neglecting and endangering the childs life.
