There are over 40 000 citizens of Armenia, currently allowed to work in Turkia without work permits, for humane reasons. For every unfriendly act of Armenia, 1000 illegal workers should immediately be deported.

Sad, but fair...{#emotions_dlg.alcoholics}

Hraparak: Youtube blocked in Armenian National Assembly

October 29, 2010 | 09:57

According to the information at the Hraparak daily’s disposal, Youtube has been blocked in the Armenian National Assembly.

“The leadership of the Armenian  Parliament tries to protect people’s representatives from additional information, available to everyone, who will make an inquiry on Youtube, particularly the story with U.S. Senator Joe Biden, on sadism in the Armenian army, schools etc.,” the daily reports.

However, the “Heritage” parliamentary faction intends to clarify why YouTube is banned in the parliament. Internet is unavailable in the new oval hall of the Armenian parliament either.

??

Can you be more specifc? What makes you state an obvious fact again as if we don´t know it?

Vineyards said "I sense some sort of Jewish involvement in this. There is an interesting parallelism with the things they said in the aftermath of the flotilla crisis", so clearly not everybody knows. This is what made me state this obvious fact.

Let´s be politically correct then... I feel an Israeli involvement in this....

This is a feeling and it is personal not to be understood as something I am trying to push.

Furthermore, I know a couple of Jewish Turks who are obviously pro-Israeli in the way they perceive this whole business.

The best way would be being able to see things as they are without taking into accounts the partiality stemming from one´s ethnic roots. We are often making this mistake ourselves. In the end, nations form interest groups, just like companies or  governments do. Never heard Sony do any sort of self-criticism, nor do I know any US president drawing a dim image of his country. We are good you are kind of bad; we are innocent but you have blood on your hands. This is the way we handle problems occurring betweeen us.

Barba, check out last few statements made by the Israeli government and other Jewish institutions around the world in the aftermath of the incident and tell me what you think about it. I wonder if you could establish a link between the two incidents too.

Dear Vineyards,

Its not about the political correctness, I suppose, but a correct vocabulary choice.  {#emotions_dlg.think}

People are easily irritated by everything these days. I remember a huge halo about "Polish Concentration Camps". We all know what it meant, but still it made headlines for weeks. We are so sensitive over insignificant matters.

Dear Vineyards... why is it so hard to understand that Jewish and Isreali is not the same? One is a religion, the other is a nationality. Turkish and Muslim is not the same either. There are enough non-Muslim Turks, and there are enough non-Turkish Muslims. There are also non-Jewish Isreali´s. It´s not about being pc, it´s just about saying what you actually mean. If you feel "Jewish involvement" you mean that my dear old grand-aunt is also somehow involved in this.

Could it be that most Jews usually support Israeli just like most Turks support Muslims? Not a statement, a hypothesis on my behalf..

Actually, no. The percentage of Muslim Turks is much much higher than the estimated percentages of Jewish people that support the acts of the Israeli government. And even if we talk about people who stand behind the actions of the government, this doesn´t mean that these supporters are "involved" in anything. Say what you mean, that is what I say

I don´t think you can actually comapre these numbers as, first of all, being a Muslim Turk does not make you automatically support whatever goes on in the Muslim world. Secondly, I don´t think there´s objective data as to what number of Jews support Israel. Still, people make assumptions, generalisations and use stereotypes

I can risk the assumption that the number of Israel supporters among Jews is higher than among Muslims or among Slavs. Ha! i can even assume that it is higher than EU support It´s all speculation though. The fact that your aunt does not support Israel, doesn´t mean neither do many other Jews. Assumptions and statistics are not based on individuals, are they?

 Yes, picking the correct terminology is not an easy task. I would say the proper term in this case would be Zionist, not Jewish, as all Jews are not particularly Zionist. Even then it gets complicated, what flavor of Zionism? Is it Christian Zionists.....what is Zionism? Rather, I think it´s political entities that masquerade in different forms depending on what is wanted at the time.

There, certainly are some very fanatic Zionists who seem to feel they have license to do just about anything.  Things like this statement by

Rabbi Ovadia Yosef says in Saturday sermon that ´Goyim have no place in the world - only to serve the People of Israel´; ADL chief calls Yosef´s words ´hateful´ and ´divisive´.

........and the platform of the Likud party is not exactly friendly to Muslims...Then let´s admit, those non Jewish Israelis don´t exactly wield much power.

Read the Likud party platform.... below is a part of it...(The Likud party now being the party in power.)

The Palestinians
Declaration of a State

A unilateral Palestinian declaration of the establishment of a Palestinian state will constitute a fundamental and substantive violation of the agreements with the State of Israel and the scuttling of the Oslo and Wye accords. The government will adopt immediate stringent measures in the event of such a declaration.

Settlements

The Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza are the realization of Zionist values. Settlement of the land is a clear expression of the unassailable right of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel and constitutes an important asset in the defense of the vital interests of the State of Israel. The Likud will continue to strengthen and develop these communities and will prevent their uprooting.

 Then I have to protest your definition of Jewish as a religion. It seems it has been redefined in the last century as something else....if your mother´s mother´s mother´s ...on and on was Jewish...you are too. Even if you are an atheist....go figure??? I wonder what Moses would say? I have met more than a few of those atheist Jews????

There are other Jewish groups, like the Refusniks, Gush Shalom and others  who do not support those policies, they are in the minority now.
