Hello to everyone I am new here and still not fully aquainted with the site yet so I hope I am doing this right.

My cousin lost her baby today and I am asking for anyone to help me find Turkish songs about losing a baby or a loved one. I am doing this because I find that Turkish music speaks volumes when it comes to emotion, in otherwords you can feel the emotion more.

Thank you for any and all help on this

True but such a song will only augment her pain. In my opinion, you could help her more if you spend time with her and show her that you care.

Hi izzy, I"m sorry for your friend"s loss..But I doubt that your request of Turkish song will ease your friend"s great pain as Turkish songs are sad and especially the ones written for loved ones. If you still want one I can recommend you this song called " Turnalara tutun da gel " Name of the singer : Yavuz Bingol

its as follows:

Uçup gittin buralardan, canımın canı nerdesin
Uçup gittin buralardan, gözümün nuru nerdesin

Gittiğin yol çok mu uzak, dönülmeyen yerde misin

Gel yağmur ol gel, gel rüzgâr ol gel
Bulutlar yoldaşın olsun, allahım seni korusun
Yolun açık aydın olsun, turnalara tutunda gel

Şimdi hangi yaban elde, belki dağda esen yelde

Allah aşkına dön gel de, şu gönlüme bayram olsun

Gel yağmur ol gel, gel rüzgâr ol gel
Bulutlar yoldaşın olsun, allahım seni korusun
Yolun açık aydın olsun, turnalara tutunda gel

Every time I listen this song I remember someone I lost long time ago.

You can watch it on youtube

There is a Turkish Art Music masterpiece with touchy lyrics.

The poet Orhan Seyfi Orhon, wrote these lyrics for his daughter who died because of a cancer. His daughter wants her father not to cry after she dies as a last wish.

The composer is Yusuf Nalkesen.

Hani o bırakıp giderken seni
Bu öksüz tavrını takmayacaktın?

Alnına koyarken veda buseni
Yüzüne bu türlü bakmayacaktın?

Gelse de en acı sözler dilime
Uçacak sanırdım birkaç kelime...
Bir alev halinde düştün elime
Hani ey gözyaşım akmayacaktın?

Just google "Hani o bırakıp giderken seni" and you should locate the song by Zeki Müren easily.

I love listening to Zeki Muren, but the videos are a sort of aturn off, to me. I much prefer listening to musical artists. This thing of having to have visuals is a detriment to the actual music, IMHO.....Here is the one I found by Zeki Muren Here is one by Muazzez Ersoy. I wonder if Bulent did a version?
