Turkey’s first Kurdish song contest

Turkey’s first ever Kurdish song contest, Strana Xwe Beje (Sing Your Song) has begun to air on TRT Şeş, the state-run Kurdish-language channel.

The show resembles the version run in Turkish, entitled Pop Star, and its first airing had Minister of Agriculture Mehdi Eker and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek in the audience. Contestants competing in the song contest have sprung from not only throughout Turkey, but also from Erbil, Iraq, Berlin, Germany and Stockholm, Sweden. With the support of Turkey´s Housing and Development Administration or TOKİ, the winner of the competition will be given a home. Additional gifts, such as a car, will also be distributed to the competitors. <[script] id="dstb-id" type="text/javascript"> <[script] id="dstb-id" type="text/javascript">

I find the prize in this competition quite normal. I mean house and cars..All those things what people need and they would motivate people to make better in the competition I guess.

I think its smilar prizes people get all over the world when they win these sort of competitions. Sometime prize would be big money . I am not sure what was the prize in the Turkish version, i guess it was money..its interesting to know.

In Holland people get cars (because it´s sponsored by a car-company), some money but most important is the record-deal. It´s a singing contest after all. Nobody wins a house since everybody already lives in a good house.
