 chek the spelling again

may be it is from arabic (EL GUBON) MEANS the fearness

Gayban in arabic means he is fear

for femiminan Gaybana or in arabic accent Gabana she is feeling fear

that is just my guess

 I don´t know the song, but there is a common phrase "gariban dünya"

Literally it means strange world, but it also has the implication of "foreign", like we really belong to another place (heaven) and are just passing through this world.

I guess this is what was misheard as gaybana??

"sözlük"s give some meaning for it. Not a word I use personally.

  1. (bkz. gaybana geceler)

    (kornish, 06.03.2004 05:28)

  2. anlamı hain, lanet, adı batasıca gibi birşeydir.
    bir diğer kullanımı için;
    (bkz: kaybana)

    (kirmizi, 24.07.2008 22:31)

  3. kötü, berbat anlamına gelen sözcüktür.
    (bkz: gaybana geceler)

    (solcu, 27.01.2009 22:15)

  4. gaybana yeri geldiği zaman garip anlamında kullanılır, yeri geldiğin de sevilen bi insana sitem etme amacında yapılır.

    garip anlamında ki gaybana;

    -vay gaybana ne hallere düştü.

    sitem anlamında ki gaybana;

    - gaybanasına yandığımdan hiç haber yok.

    (bkz: trabzon)

 These all mean deceptive, treacherous etc.

The last one agrees the guess of "gariban" but gives 2 possibilities:

garip anlamında ki gaybana;
Gaybana as "strange"
-vay gaybana ne hallere düştü.

  - wow, look what how the strange person has fallen into

sitem anlamında ki gaybana;

Gaybana as criticism

- gaybanasına yandığımdan hiç haber yok.
s/he had no idea that I was cross about their oddness

 Scalpel, any more Black Sea words you think we should all learn? Please give meaning in Turkish and/or English with each one!

Well, the other most common one that you should learn is: andır (or ander)

(often in) andır kalsın / ander kalsun

It is something like "damn it" in English. (Maybe someone else can suggest a better English equivalent for that)

You can enrich the bunch of words by adding kaybana to it: "Ander kaybana kalasun emi!"
