Quoting tunci

additional explanation ;

" Onun uzun zamandır aradığı eteği bulabileceği bir mağaza biliyorum ."

O [she] + n [buffer n] + un [genitive]  ---> Onun

uzun [long] + zaman [time] + dır [for] --> Uzun zamandır

ara [stem of the verb "aramak" ] + dık [object participle, "k" changes into "ğ"] + ı [possesive 3] --> aradigi

etek [skirt,"k"changes into "ğ"] + i [accusative] ---> eteği

bul [ Verb stem] + abil [able] + ecek [future tense ,"k" changes into "g"] +i [possesive 3]

bir [a] mağaza [store] ---> bir mağaza

bil [verb stem] + iyor [progressive tense] + um [person "I"] -->biliyorum

Hocam, bu sana benden olsun

And the final form of the sentence is ;

" I would have expected her to tell the truth "

Onun gerçeği [doğruyu] söylemesini beklerdim.

O [she] + n [buffering n] + dan [ablative] + gerçek [truth, "k" changes into "ğ" ] + i [accusative] + söyle [stem] + me [ suffix that makes verbal noun ] + si [possesive for 3.person] + n [buffering n ]+ i [accusative] + bekle [stem] + r [aorist tense] + di [past] + m [person "I"].

 And this chocolate goes to dear Deli for her great efforts on this complicated sentence.

  Afiyet olsun !

 Dear Tunci I know I keep going over this sentence but I  have two more questions

you put dan here, and is the s in the word söylemeSini acting as the buffer to separate the two vowels. Im lacking behind everyone else here I know

Hi Deli,

maybe I can help you

" I would have expected her to tell the truth "

Onun gerçeği [doğruyu] söylemesini beklerdim.

 or "Her truth telling" I would have expected

The ´s´ buffer letter is only used for possessive 3rd person singular (he/she/it) added to the word ´that is possessed´.

söylemek - to tell

söyleme - (verbal noun) - telling

onun söylemesi = her telling

and because ´her telling´ is now the object of the next verb, we have to add another buffer letter

thus

onun söylemesini beklerdim

Good questions Dear Deli,

I have done typing error above by putting "Onun" i will change it now. Sağol.

1. The reason I put "dan" is that the verb " birisinden bir seyi beklemek " requires ablative case, to expect or wait something from someone. In other words because it is "from someone" we need to put "dan,den"  such as;

Senden bir haber bekliyorum ---> I am waiting a news from you.

Senden bu sözleri beklemezdim ---> I wouldnt expect [to hear] these words from you.

but in other cases such as ;

Seni bekliyorum ---> I am waiting for you.

Bunu bekliyordum ---> I was expecting this.

                               I was waiting for this.

and;

If the sentence was ;

"Her telling me the truth made me happy" ; --->

Onun gerçeği söylemesi beni mutlu etti. ---> So "un" here would be "genitive"

Onun gerceği soylemesi ---> Her telling the truth.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. yes, aferin sana !  you are right, I forgot to seperate "s" , as "s" is acting like " buffer" to combine two wovels here.

in "soylemesi"  soyle + me + s [buffer s] + i [possesive]

Bravo sana..You again proved how clever you are !! Tesekkurler Deli..
