Rob, just because someone wrote it on the internet doesn´t mean it´s right! Google just picks up on what has been written/posted, not what is correct.

Do a test in your own language to check it out.

For example, this morning to check that I was right in spelling it "hail from" not "hale from" I typed them both into google. Although hale from is wrong, not only did it suggest "hale from" after I had typed in hale, but it also found a lot of sites that had this written.

A Google search shows how often a certain quote written on the net, and that´s all. 

Searching for "hale from" gives hits on "Reverend Hale from this-and-that-movie", "Nathan Hale from..." and so on. I´m well aware of that, and that´s why I try to pick a combination of words that excludes these obvious misguiding results. 

The suggested phrase when you start typing "hale from" is "hale from the crucible". Reverend John Hale.

If you pick the right combinations of words, the result can tell you either that one of the alternatives is totally wrong and the other one is right, or that both of them are so common the case may be that it´s different in different dialects or parts of Turkey. Which is what I suggested in my previous post (600 000 hits/2,8 million hits, singular is 21% of plural result)

Another example: Search for "weild an axe". 8 470 results. "wield an axe" gives 240 000 results. 8 470 out of 340 000 is 3,5%, so the conclusion is quite obvious: Weiled is wrong.
