my edit for better pronunciation:

cat: miyav

dog: hav hav or just hav

crow: gaaak gaaak or just gaak (long a, never pronounced short)

chicken: gıt gıt gıdaak or just gıdaak (long "a", may be pronounced short, no problem.)

rooster: üğüüğüürüüü ü´ürü üüü (you cut your breath at ´ punctuation)

sheep: meee meee or just mee

cow: mööö mööööö or just möö

sparrow: ciiiik ciiik or cik ("i" may be pronunced long or short, it doesnt matter.)

frog: vırak vırak or just vırak (but double vırak is more common)

snake: tısssss sss...

wolf: aaauuuuuu

horse. iiiaaaahahh (cant be written, mostly cant be pronounced too)

donkey: aaiii aaiii

Hehe, nice topic My try at Polish (corrections welcome ) - seems that some of them are similar in Finnish

cat: miau

dog: hau hau

crow: kraa kraa

chicken: kło kło kłooo (letter "ł" sounds like "wh" in "where", "why", "what" - but not like in "who"! )

rooster: kukurykuuu ("y" letter sounds like undotted I in Turkish -> kukurıkuuu)

sheep: meeee

cow: muuu

sparrow: ćwir ćwir (difficult for me to say how to describe pronunciation of "ć" letter - but you can copy&paste it here: http://www.ivona.com/pl/ the speech synthesizer there is very good at Polish, though still bit hmm maybe not artificial but sounds very formal, like guy on TV reading text)

frog: kum kum (??)

snake: ssss

wolf: aaauuuuuu

horse. iiiihaaa

donkey: (hmm... no idea, really)

Btw - what are you saying to cat if you want it to come to you? I think that in Turkish it is "pisi pisiiii" ? In Polish it is "kici kici" (my try at English transcription: keetsee-keetsee )

cat: miyavla-mak, kediler miyavlar.

dog: havla-mak, köpekler havlar.

rooster: öt-mek, horozlar öter.

sheep: mele-mek, koyunlar meler. keçiler de meler.

sparrow: öt-mek, serçeler öter, bütün kuşlar öter, horoz da öter.

wolf: ulu-mak, kurtlar ulur.

horse: kişne-mek, atlar kişner.

donkey: anır-mak, eşekler anırır.

some animals know some turkish words!

if you sit on a horse or donkey, just say "deh", then it starts to walk.

ıf you want to stop a horse or donkey, just say "çüşşş", then it stops.

if you want to feed some cats, just call them "pisi pisi pisi", they will come to you.

if you want some dogs stay away from you, just say "hoşt" loudly, no guarantee they will go

In Polish:

To make horse start walking: "wio !" (probably the same for donkey )

To stop horse or donkey: "prrrrrr"

To make cat come to you: "kici kici kici"

If people want to make animals go away, they usually say "sio". This is supposed to work for all (or at least many) species of animals I´m not sure if we have any specific "word" for dogs

Looks like animals are really clever creatures if they can understand what you want no matter if you say "prrrr" or "çüşşşş"

Great. Thanks tunci, ahmet_a1b2 and AlphaF. A nice group of voice verbs we have here now.

But it is still difficult for me to believe that a cock can sing.

I got an idea. The metaphorical use of animal sounds (with a human subject) gives us a great freedom of expression. (Just don´t forget diye):

...diye homurdandı (I have heard this many times.)

                          ...diye kişnedi

                          ...diye uludu

                          ...

No?

homurdan-mak used for humans and have a spesific meaning.

imagine someone gets angry or heard something he/she doesnt like and saying something to himself/herself, most probably bad things, not always swearing but complaining angrily, but the most important of all, listener cannot understand what he/she says. so from the listener´s point of view he/she definetly "homurdanıyor." actually "homurdanan kişi" doesnt really want the listeners to understand him/her because they dont want to argue with the listener´s, too. But they need to express their unwillingness and anger by "homurdanmak". Also homurdanmak makes the listener a bit angry too. and i think this is on purpose by the "homurdanan kişi" in order to punish him indirectly...

Ayılar homurdanır.....insanlardan anlaşılmaz sesler çıkartanlar ayılara benzetildiği için homurdandıkları söylenir.
