A Beginner Wants to Chat!

Merhabalar arkadaşlar!

I´ve been learning Turkish for around two weeks now and am still very much a beginner. I´m following a learning philsophy of jumping straight into conversations with native Turks whenever possible, regardless of the outcome. I believe it´s the best way to learn... even if I make constant mistakes in the beginning. It served me well with learning Esperanto.

I´m just popping my head in here to see if there´s anyone who might be interested in regular chats? I´ve tried logging into the chat room here a few times but there´s never anyone online (at least when I am).

As I said, I´m very much a beginner with a limited grasp on the language... but I´m a fairly swift learner and quite dedicated to reaching a decent conversational level ASAP. I´m mostly studying using a copy of Colloquial Turkish, a nice little Lonely Planet phrasebook, and watching whatever Turkish language content I can find on YouTube

I´m willing to humbly accept my mistakes and gladly welcome all corrections in return for a positive, helpful attitude. Some people can get upset by people misusing their language, but I have to stress that my priority at this stage is being able to communicate effectively, not necessarily perfectly. I don´t like having grammar shoved down my throat from the get go!

I´m mostly looking for folks to chat with via Skype, MSN, etc.. If you´re interested, let me know! I´m also looking for a decent IRC channel for Turkish learners like myself.
