Selam, I really like to know if there's any direct link from Brussels- preferably by plane to Erzurum and Ordu? Ehmmm... what about safe and proper bus? perfer with toilet (don't worry, I will watch out that i don't fall through) Is it safe for female to travel by bus then? Is it true someone in chat room said Turkish men like japanese or chinese women? :-S

Thank you...

With THY, there's not direct flight from Bruxel to Erzurum, but Bruxel-Istanbul and then Istanbul-Erzurum.

I'm a woman and I've travelled alone by bus from Antalya to Gaziantep and back. The busses were ok and it was safe. They placed me near the rear door and I got a whole seat by myself both ways. There was a toilet on the bus and they stopped so you could eat or go to a proper toilet.

There were mostly men on the bus and they looked a lot but there were not any problem.

And in Türkiye, in intercity buses they never sit woman passengers next to man passengers unless they know eachother.
I find it a bit primitive, but maybe they have encountered bad experiences.

selam mltm,

Thank you for the Turkish Airlines flight information ... i think i can check it from there but 1 question though - Istanbul Atartuk & Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen-what's the differences between these two airports? Better facilities? So, if i were to choose which airport to fly from to Erzurum? Seems like there's no connection flights to Ordu... Hmmm...

With the bus i can have seat all to myself then ? woohooo!!!

I've never been to Sabiha Gökçen Airport, it's in the asian part, and the other one is in the european part. Sabiha G. is a newer airport, don't know about the facilities, you can go to their internet site. I don't think it will matter too much.
In the bus, you'll sit next to a woman probably hehe. I hope not a fat one.

selam gül,

Thank you for the info about the bus... I think because the men seldom seen women travel alone so they stared a lot at you. Perhaps Turkish men do practise gentlemen etiquette . I had few female friends who had bad experience when they travel in male dominant countries...

I do hope you can share more info of your trips of travelling alone in this Forum.

In big cities, there won't be a problem travelling alone as a woman unless you trust anyone you meet, but according to me in other parts, it's better you behave a bit more cautiously, don't be very brave, don't accept friend requests of especially men you meet even if it seems they're very helpful, dress properly, seem serious, don't smile very much at strangers, try to be in places where there're other people etc. etc. I haven't travelled alone, but it sounds to me that these can help you.
