A Higgs-Boson particle waltzes into a Church, and the priest says, "We don´t serve the likes of you."

The Higgs says, "But, without me, how can you even have Mass?"

I am amazed that none of the religious freaks we have here show any interest in the so called "God particle".

THAT THERE ARE AT LEAST TWO OTHER INITIATED MEMBERS AMONG US MAKES ME HAPPY !

I used to think in my small mind if the Almighty shows in laws of physics he must be hidden in the law of Conservation of Energy. The Higgs boson seems to be another alternative.

We people tend to interpret new pieces of information always so that they support our previous views. Some say look we are coming closer to the ultimate explanation of everything that exists and we didn´t need God for that. Others think this is the way our Creator is unveiling parts of his universe and he does it when and how he pleases.

But for every human, no matter what our view of life is, these are big issues. Miserable is the one who doesn´t understand it. There were tears in the 83-year-old Peter Higgs´s eyes when he performed in the press gathering of Cern.

I think it´s strange to call this the "god-particle," it´s such a strange thing that the media can put such a term into peoples´ brains like that. The term god-particle wasn´t coined to mean that this would be the evidence of god or something like that. And somehow it turned into that, it has an incredible ring to it. Like this discovery is the answer to everything and all. Seeing the Hobbs boson in action is a major step in science, but it has nothing to do with god. There is no proof for god, that´s why it is religion and faith.

There was a good article about this subject on a turkish newspaper yesterday:

The Higgs boson is often referred to as the "God particle" by individuals outside the scientific community,   after the title of Leon Lederman´s popular science book on particle physics.

Lederman said he gave it a nickname because the particle is "so central to the state of physics today, so crucial to our understanding of the structure of matter, yet so elusive,  and added that he chose "the God particle" because the publisher wouldn´t let us call it the Goddamn Particle, though that might be a more appropriate title, given its villainous nature and the expense it is causing.

higgs boson is higgs boson, whoever called it god´s particle he should think of take attention of public and he succeeded though. there is nothing connected to god´s existence directly. it is just a physical theory like other physical theories...

The scientist that had the first vision of this elusive particle was so baffled with it that he actually called it the "god damn particle".

That it is now called the "god particle" is a communication error.
