A newly married couple in the western province of Yalova used a forklift as their wedding car on Sunday.

Serkan Çiçek, who works as an operator for a private company which rents construction equipment, and Gülsüm Kılıç traveled on a forklift to their marriage ceremony. The couple came to the hall sitting on a sofa placed on the front of the forklift.

Çiçek, who spoke to reporters before the wedding, said his elder brother and cousins surprised him by turning a forklift into a wedding car. He said that although he had been expecting a regular car, he was grateful for the surprise.

After touring Yalova on the forklift, the couple headed to the Tavşanlı Cultural Center, where their wedding took place.
