It is hard to give advice without knowing much detail.

Tomer offers courses in a few Turkish cities, and also offers an internet based course. I assume you already know of this Tomer web-site.

Maybe try the internet one first, before you commit to the face to face course. You can then judge if their teaching style works for you.

So I  am assuming you will be staying for at least 1 month to complete 40-80 hours of Turkish and hopefully progress 1 level. If you do the course in Istanbul, Tomer has lessons in 2 separate parts of the city. I suggest that if you know no Turkish at all, that you would be better off doing a Turkish course locally (if available) or studying on the internet, and building your vocabulary and basic knowledge, before doing a course in Turkey. You will then get more from an intensive Turkish course at a higher level. Istanbul  is probably more expensive for accommodation than other Tomer locations. The time of year when you go can also make a difference to costs.

There are also other language schools like Dilmer who also hold classes near Taksim in Istanbul.

There are many accommodation web-sites for Istanbul like Wimdu

Good luck. I can tell you a little information about recent Dilmer teaching methods from my experiences, but I only know about Tomer from others who have studied there a while ago.

Hi Henry,

Could you tell me more about your experiences at Dilmer?
