Might I request some help with this part of one of my favoite songs? This is only part of the lyrics but I already have most of the song figured out after a Turkish tutor helped me with it in 2010. What I have here is as i remember it being explained then.

kimseden utanmıyoruz hırçın çocuklardan başka -We weren´t ashamed of who we were, other than misbehaving children

Here, have I understood -kimseden  and -dan başka correctly?

vapurun yantarafında uyuduk -We slept by the side of the ferry.

bisiklet sürdük yokuş aşağıya -We drove the bicycle down the slope

Thank you as always{#emotions_dlg.angel}

kimseden utanmıyoruz hırçın çocuklardan başka -We weren´t ashamed of anyone [anybody], other than [except] misbehaving children

"kimse "  in this context means "anyone,anybody"

kimseden ---> from anyone

kimseden utanmıyoruz

vapurun yan tarafında uyuduk -We slept by the side of the ferry.

bisiklet sürdük yokuş aşağıya -We drove the bicycle down the slope

the sentences above are correct but ;

# in the first sentence, yan tarafında is two seperate words.

#  the second sentence is in inverted form, I would prefer normal order unless you are using it in a poem.

 Yokuş aşağı bisiklet sürdük.

True, I prefer the normal and correct order as well, I made sure not to forget that this is a song, where singers do sometimes take liberties with the grammar such as in poetry. I am actually planning to post this song to my LinkedIn Turkish Learners group and I wanted to demonstrate how some grammar is used.Though I know a song isn´t always the best way to do that.

Thank you Tunci{#emotions_dlg.bigsmile}
