When you post in Turkish, please don´t forget to provide an English language summary.

And when someone post in English, He/She should provide a Turkish language summary too.

[ İngilizce gönderimde bulunanlar da Türkçe özetini eklemelidirler.]

tunci there is no such requirement. We will post in line with the rules determined by the admins. We can´t force our own rules.

Repeated violations will have consequences as laid out in the site rules. Let us avoid dead ends as much as we can.

Vineyards, I know the rules. I am not forcing  any rule to anyone. What I am saying is that when a Turk posts totaly English post [about politics or other issues]  , he/she should add a brief summary in Turkish. I don´t think this will hurt anyone. It is just an opinion of mine.

Dear Vineyards, you have a valid point here. However, in order to translate some of the text into Turkish we might need to pay for a professional translator- I assume that will be costly!

On the other hand, if you do post something in English and someone asks for a Turkish translation, it is not a very easy thing to do as well.

What is the solution? Probably both parties could try to give a brief summary rather than the whole text. Consequently both sides will benefit from it- at the end of the day, all of us trying to learn something new everyday,as much as we can.

interactions, one could consider this a window into the Turkish culture. More than often, the person looking from this window is someone who doesn´t speak Turkish at all. We can´t ask that person to provide a Turkish summary.

Ultimately, the persons who launched this site were not completely thoughtless. They thought about these and many other things before investing their time, energy and money in this web site.

For example, the site owners can owner and decide to change the site language to Arabic. It is all up to them, it is their site.

As I understand it, Turkish Language Class was created for those who come here are looking for information about Turkish culture, get on the fly translations or learn the Turkish language. As one of those people, I find it very frustrating when long posts are done in Turkish with no translation.
If people want to only speak with those who already understand the Turkish language, there must be places for that, but this is not that place.

Things work both ways Alameda. There are some Turkish  and non-Turkish members whose English level are not sufficient to understand those totaly English posts. We are not learning English here. We are learning Turkish. Again , brief summary in Turkish for English posts won´t bring any harm to this site. This is my opinion.

When we are learning about Turkish culture and travel, do we also get informed about the negatives?
