yes, but you know, learning a language means to think in that language, not just translate punctualy, sometimes literally some phrases..my point of view...

 

and, as you can see, here it is not used

tırmanmak -  to climb

anyway, we have wait a native speaker

Actually this phrase says: He/she is walking toward the upward direction that is possessed by the mountain.

Regular translation: He/she is climbing the mountain.

Dağ-ın yukarı-sı = the upper part(s) (or the top) of the mountain

 

-a yürümek = to walk to ...

 

So, "Dağın yukarısına yürüyor" would be

He/She´s walking to the upper part(s) (or the top) of the mountain

 


while "He/she is climbing the mountain" would be

Dağa tırmanıyor.
