some notes about - ip

-ip can be a confusing. It’s a shortcut – it doesn’t mean anything by itself. It’s just a fast way to repeat a tense used in another part of the sentence.

We  do this in English. Instead of saying “I’m going to have a bath and I’m going to wash my hair,” we just say “I’m going to have a bath and wash my hair.” It’s the same concept.

So, in Turkish, for example, instead of saying:

Banyo yapacağım ve saçlarımı yıkayacağım.

You can just say:

Banyo yapıp ve saçlarımı yıkayacağım.

-ip just acts like the tense in the second verb. So, in this case, it’s a shortcut for the future tense. However, it can be a shortcut for any tense. Some more examples:

Bakkala gidip bir kilo süt al. (Go to the store and buy a kilo of milk.)

Annesine koşup onu öptü. (He ran to his mom and kissed her.)

Sinemaya gidip film seyredelim. (Let’s go to the cinema and watch a movie.

You can just say:

Dont use "ve" after -ip suffix.
