It is early morning here. I am in the village and there is nothing to eat in the fridge. Now I am eating candies and chocolates that my mother hided from me

I guess mine has been pretty boring. We dont celebrate it here. (I would escape to holiday when I lived in Turkey during festivals as I did not like  force-kissing hands and forced to eat home made baklavas of my relatives -I might have been  picky abit -)

I sent emails to my friends and to some of the groups; called a few of them; called my parents. 

I think if you live as a diaspora person for a long time you get used to these things. It is not only me, most of the people I see around the place I live, are the same.
