I have a question on a correction:
Hoca hemen çarşıya koşup biraz kağıt birkaç kurşun kalemle çocuk kitapları satın alır.
Teacher immediately runs to the mall
Hoca hemen çarşıya koşar biraz kağıt birkaç kurşun kalemle çocuk kitapları satın alır.
Teacher immediately rushes/hurries to the mall
can you explain why koşup is the better choice
thanks

By using this gerund of junction [ -ip,ıp,up,üp ] I just wanted to make these two actions - one immidiately following the other- flow better in the text. That´s just sounded better to me.

I have a question about the last sentence of Kelowna´s text:
bundan iki hafta sonra okuyup yazmağı öğrenir duruma gelecek.
What does "şeyi öğrenir duruma gelecek" mean? Does it mean that he/she will have learned something (for example, after two weeks, he/she will have some basic level of knowledge about it) or that he/she will be learning this?

What does "şeyi öğrenir duruma gelecek" mean? Does it mean that he/she will have learned something (for example, after two weeks, he/she will have some basic level of knowledge about it) or that he/she will be learning this?
In fact, that is not very clear, since in the text " öğrenir durumda olacak " tells us that as if the person will still be learning "reading and writing " or " he/she will have earned the ability to learn how to read an write "
It is better to use " past "
İki hafta sonra okuma-yazmayı sökmüş olur. [olacak]
İki hafta sonra okuma-yazmayı öğrenmiş olur. [olacak]
He/She will have learnt how to read and write in two weeks.
or just simple tense referring the future --->
İki hafta sonra okuma-yazmayı söker.
He/She will learn how to read and write in two weeks.

Why is it better to use sökmek instead of öğrenmek in this sentence? Frankly I didn´t even know the first verb before

Why is it better to use sökmek instead of öğrenmek in this sentence? Frankly I didn´t even know the first verb before
"öğrenmek" means just "to learn something" as you know. The verb " sökmek" is used with the verb " to read" meaning "to gain the ability of how to read and write, finally gaining the skill of writing and reading after alot of effort". Most of the time we use this phrase to refer the children at school who finally gain the ability of how to read and write.
" Note that this is not a primary meaning of that verb. The primary meanings of that verb are quite different --->

Okuma-yazmayı sökmek - to gain the ability of reaing and writing.
It is just more precise and suitable using sökmek instead of öğrenmek in this case.
