The one whom you held in awe will really begin to look down on you one day. The one you ennobled won´t like you. Then look at your own work from a distance.

I think that the last sentence:

Uzaktan bakarsın eserine

May also mean: You will look from distance on his/her work.

In my opinion, it is "your work" since the context tells us that it is the second person who is adressed. Therefore it is "your work" that you would  watch [look at] from a distance. [by saying that, the person [adviser] says that you will just be able to watch your work [the person you always  put in a high place and valued  ]

In other words, people are ungrateful , you value them but in return only thing you get is "disrespect, ungratefullness, unthankfulness" , One day that person might change in such a way that  you would not even be able to approach that person , you would just look him/her from a distance.

Theoretically yes but I still don´t think so.

I think the context supports this interpretation: look at him now, he is a product of yours, you have made him what he is. You look up to him, he looks down to you.

Thank you for explanations, Abla and Tunci! I didn´t get what "work" was mentioned in the sentence, but your explanations make sense to me.
